im running the jx21 and pipe (which is a 2060 os pipe) in my 5r and its the best ive tried so far. the last two seasons i ran the jp mod v spec's and the jx is just as smooth with more top end and alot cheaper. if you cant win with this motor, its not the motor thats holding you back..lol buy the jx and use the $200 you saved for tires. tires are what win races, Cole. lol

im running the ninja jx pipe 2042 with the c header, the short one, on the buggy and truggy. .9 springs on the car and 1.0 on the truck. i think im going to try a smaller restrictor on the new car with the lower weight and gear ratio,we run on dry slick tracks in the midwest.

grp has lost another driver, travis a. is going to run the ninja jx motors!
|
the JX motor looks really nics on the T/A car.
|
hey tony what are your needles set at on jx just to see how close i am?thanks
|
LSN is about flush, mid needle is about flush (haven't touch it from factory setting) and the HSN is about flush with the straight part of that brass barrel (not including that beveled edge). Runs at 195-208* all day long. I have about 1-1/2 to 2 gallons on it. It is still a bit tight. This weekend I am going to lean her out a bit and get a little more heat in her to loosen it up.
Best regards, |
I love this JX! I run mine Eb Modded with the 8mm stack, 2042w/L header, and a P4 plug.
Ed found that the idle gap is set to high out of the box... It should be 1 turn from fully closed. HSN: I'm 2-1/4 turns from closed MSN: stock (flush) LSN: 4-1/4 turns from closed runs unbelievable! :D |
wat kind of runtime are you guys gettin in buggies with this engine? im tryin to decide on my new engine.
|
Just got my Ninja from Amain! Are you guys heat cycling for break in? Anything unusual about break in?

Low speed needle, mid range needle, high speed needle and idle speed adjustment screw. The last one only sets the idle endpoint so it's not a mixture adjustment. Mark |
About 9+ min with a 8 mm restrictor and Ninja pipe.
