zixxer- looks good buddy!! I'm glad you are happy with the engine. I just wanted to throw a couple tuning tips at you to help you find the tune on it. I don't know what you are running for clutching or what the smoke look like down low but it sounds a touch lean on the bottom and a little rich on top which is a common mistake most engine tuners make. The tune doesn't sound bad but it should definately have more pop down low. It sounds flat on the bottom and doesn't seem to smoke until the midrange so what I would do is richen the LSN 1-2 hours at a time and lean in the HSN the same until you see a solid smoke trail from the time the truck responds to your throttle input until it hits peak rpm. The HSN not only dictates how much fuel is delivered at WOT but it also controls how much fuel is allowed to reach the LSN at low end operation so if you have the HSN too rich, it will give a false indication of a rich bottom end and you will feel the need to lean the LSN when in fact the HSN needs to be leaned in and the LSN richend to balance the fuel signal at all rpms. Try that out and report back to the engines response to those changes. Obviously you will most likely have to adjust the idle accordingly but that engine has alot more hidden in that thing as far as low end grunt

It certainly does not sound bad at all for just starting the breakin and just throwing it on the ground with the original carb settings. The clutch springs are light as well so that will definately hurt the bottom end clutch response running on pavement with great traction. It can be hard to hear the difference between a clutch bog on pavement versus a lean bog on the engine. Just wanted to throw the tuning tip out there so you and anyone else out there that may have encountered a similar low end issue would have something to try out to see if they can't get it cleaned up. Definately let us know how the race goes and definately run the lighter clutching on the loomy surface. The motor does sound beautiful on the stand so it has the power lurking inside, just needs to be tweaked to get it there.

I had a good day yesterday with the extech II. Only 2nd time out with this mill vs my old eewwwwB mods mill. ran a 7 min C main and bumped up. Next main was 10 min. I had a first timer pit me so I decided to just push it a bit. He topped me off before the drop and off I went. Ran straight through with madpower. I could make passes on the straight. Came off the track @ 206 after 25 minutes straight track time. Finished the 10 minute main with a sip still in the tank. I am sure I can stretch it a bit more with some more fuel through it. This was on the 2056 pipe with a P4 plug. VERY impressed with this offering from Trinity over the first full mod version. IMO it beats out a v spec in EVERY department.

Chad,
It was nice meeting you this weekend at the Psycho race and thanks again for replacing the carb on my extech. That was really unexpected and great customer support!
What was the sealant you recommended to seal the carb area (all I remember was it was black - I was running on about 5 hours of sleep for the weekend - everything is kinda a blur)?
Thanks again!
