Is anyone running this engine on a truggy? And what kind of run times are you getting, does it has enough torque to clear doubles out of a turn. or do i need the 24? thanks

I usually run the .21 race tuned in my Losi truggy,

I like it, but alot of guys seem to prefer a bigger motor (.24-.28) around where I run. I like having the runtime vs. extra power. Then again that will all depend on your area, track size, clutch setup, and pipe choice. All play a part in the overall performance of the motor in a truggy.

My best runtime on a small track was about 15:30 with the tank bone dry, using a big boy pipe. On the largest track that I run on, the run time with the same pipe was 8:00-9:30. I was a little under geared for the track and was running harder.

The .24 is nice in a truggy and either would do well.

What plugs are you guys using. I have heard that thr P4 is good but I have also heard the P3 is good.

Chad from Trinity claims that a OS P4 is the recommended plug or there #5 plug. FYI in the .21 and the .24

I never flame out runs as good as I could ask. Trinity recommends it I've gotten as much as 6-7 gallons thru one motor and is still running, sticking with what's working for me. Chad said to me not to use a P3 plug, sorry but why argue with the Distributor of there line of motors. To each there own.

Question?

Do all ExTech's have the red putty in the crank and the block machined on the inside on the carb side?

cjtamu 05-29-2009 09:08 AM

Man, I can't find a turbo head button for the Extech .21 anywhere. Trinity shopping cart is down. Anybody have an old one they'd be willing to sell?

PinoyCali 05-29-2009 10:23 AM

You can check or call www.airlandhobbies.com they do have 2 extech .21 in stock.
