This should put you close:

LSN .045 above flush
Idle .030 from flush

No kidding i'd like to pick one up but it's like $200 more than what they were going for recently in the U.S

Hi,

I thought I'd stir up an old thread for some advice.

I got me a.used mr21 b01a and wow this thing is off the hook. Running it with sirio 2013 pipe and 7mm restrictor. I'm always on the track after evryone runs out of fuel so good mileage around 8-10 mins.

I have found the engine of my dreams, but trying to find a p&l and rod that is in stock is becoming a real bad dream.

Anyone know where I should be looking?

I've been looking at amain and they have the tq liners that I think will work?

hey houston,

cool beans.

someone somewhere must have a P&L and rod, of that i'm sure.

Thanks,

Ambros303 05-23-2011 10:24 AM

Piston an liner of a GRP tuned will fit. That means the piston and liner of a Tq/Tecnopower B01/G5 will fit aswell. The rod of an GRP tuned will not fit as the MR ninja has a slightly smaller crankpin compared to the GRP tuned.

A GRP made Boss .21 rod will fit tho...that is your best bet as the MR ninja rods are an unoptanium nowadays. The GRP made Boss was a near copy of the MR ninja.

Here's some parts (ships internationaly)

Hi Ambros,

Thanks for the info that's great stuff. I thought the Grp mills were identical internally. Thanks for the heads up ref rod differences.

What do u think about the 7 port liner for off road? It's the only one in stock from rc models.

Are the tq and technopower rods the same as the ninja mr21?

Thanks again.

The TQ and Tecnopower rods are the same as the GRP tuned and as such will not fit the MR ninja (bottom rod bushing will be slightly too big for the MR ninja crank pin).

Don't know about the 7 port liner...it's used in the Rally version aswell. Will most likely give more power up top but less bottom end...Just get a Tq, Tecnopower B01 or Ascendancy G5 piston and liner...timings are identical afaik and will fit the MR ninja block

modder 05-23-2011 02:19 PM

Hi Ambros,

I found this link on mr21 rods, but won't let me paste url as I've not reqched the rewind for this forum. Google 501489-ninja-21-conneting-rod

They are suggesting the on road Grp tq techopower rod will work?

Does this sound plausable?

Cheers,

H

Ambros303 05-24-2011 10:03 AM

I used to have both the MR ninja and the GRP tuned (still have the tuned) and the rod of the ninja wouldn't fit over the GRP crankpin (lower bushing too small). The GRP rod would fit over the Ninja crankpin but (too) sloppy :(

Since the Tq/Tecnopower rods are identical to the GRP tuned rods they will be too sloppy aswell.

When i still had the ninja i tried looking for rods aswell, thats how i found out the GRP Boss rod will fit: ordered one and turned out it was identical to a ninja rod :)

modder 05-24-2011 10:08 AM

Hi,

Sons of bees they have to complicate issues with technicallities why not keep the bushing dimensions the same... They're mass produced anyways....

Where did you order the boss rod from? Still can't find anything boss related.

Thanks

Ninja Falcon Boss Grp

Ebay item number- 320688425775

Hey guys I've been hunting down a reasonably priced p&l and rod for well over a week now and doing the maths.

I found a guy selling brand new Grp falcon, so he claims. But I heard a rumour about copies of these mills. Does the link look like a genuine deal. The crank case looks identical...

Also were there tuned versions of the falcon as with Grp's line up. I.e. silver and gold heads?

If this guys items are legitimate then econimically speaking I may aswell get a new one.

All input welcome. Any links to the real falcon would be great I can't find jack about it.

Thanks guys

Ambros303 06-05-2011 11:24 AM

GRP Falcon:

http://www.rcmodelstore.com/catalog/...rge/FA21B1.jpg

There were special Mario Rossi tuned editions of the GRP Boss/Falcon/Ninja engines. Recognisable by the magnesium cooling heads.

Heres one (rally version of the Falcon, but you get the idea)

I have a TQ Speed Lab 501 engine for sale. This engine is basically a GRP Tuned clone with a different cooling head. It is brand new and still factory sealed. Take a look if you're interested.

G5,grp hybrid

I used an ascendancy g5 crank and head and ad the internal components from an old grp tuned that I had witch it broke by where the engine mounts goes ,it works great it is virtually the same crank, now I need a rod and bearing since the compression is still very good but I see there are many option and i like to get the best rod for a grp tunned .21? Can anybody help me with this and tell me wich rod is the best for me? Thanks

camocowboy 09-04-2011 01:27 PM

Sounds like a lot of work as cheap as engines are these days. I am running the Ascendancy G5 and it's been great. Price point is pretty nice too.

That would be a G5 rod as it has a slight update compared to the GRP tuned rod. The lower bushing is made of harder material according to Rody.

Thanks.

G5 conrod

Where can I buy a rod for a g5?

Ambros303 09-05-2011 10:10 AM

If you can't find a G5 rod then you can use a Tecnopower B01 or TQ speedlab .21 rod aswell (same rod as the G5).

JC Gascot 09-06-2011 12:40 AM

Grp rod

Hey ambros I was looking up some of the rods for sale on ebay and omnimodels has a duratax rod that look very close to the grp I know the materials may not be as good but for the price I think is worth triying it, the lenght of it is 37.5mm from top to bottom and 30mm from center of the holes the only problem with it is that does not say the size of the holes I will soon take my engine apart to measure the lenght of my rod an if it is the same I will ask omnimodels for the size of the holes, this may be a cheaper way to go even if it will have to be replace sooner. This rod is only 13.0 dollars shipped

The rods have to be the excact same size tho, else you will get timing differences in your engine. The bushings have to be the exact size aswell. For the trouble i'd try and find a GRP tuned, G5, TQ or an TecnoPower B01 rod ;)

A Main has TecnoPower rods if i'm not mistaken :tire:

MR21-BO1A

Evening guys. Anyone know where to get carb needle o-rings for a Ninja MR21-BO1A? I'm also curious if any of the engines, in the Technopower line up, parts are interchangable (bearings and other internals). Any response appreciated. Thanks!

I have one of these for sale that is still sealed and new in the box. It may be cheaper than trying to replace all of those parts.

I have a NEW bearing set, P/S/R, and a complete gasket set for the B01.
I also have a couple NEW B01's remaining.
PM me if interested.
