Imo, is a bit pricey, as u may need a set of p/s/c + bearing very soon n re-building which i guess will be around new price of gx2plus

Yeah I know some parts can fit or be interchanged, thats all good, I was just posting about the engine because thats similar to the udp engine you wanted or have but most likely more powerful. Would make an great engine with a few mods like my Godzilla (GO GX5R) engine has, probably better.

Oh, & don't worry, I don't get offended & nothing to be offended about in your post I thought.

Ha, news travels fast....

I wasn't too sure what PRS set was in the Champion until I got the latest pricing from GO.
As I mentioned on our FB page, I reckon the GX-5R was GO's best 5+2 port design to date, even better than the GXII-5HRO - more bottom end and an all round stronger power band. Great for truggy as well as buggy.
With the updated UDP crankcase and stronger more compact cooling head, this re-incarnation of the GX-5R should be a cracker little motor.
Price is nice too.

The entire GX-R Series were great motors. The GX-7R was a storming buggy engine, with massive top end.
Definitely one of the best "buggy specific" motors we have ever sold. Very similar to the Werks B6 Pro with a smooth but super strong power band from start to finish.

I wonder if GO has a batch of 7R sleeves out back in the warehouse somewhere. Hmm ..........

IMHO, I would cough up a little more for a new GXII from Rex. Still at 75 bucks, no telling how the crank pin and the rest of the engine condition is. RW Mods has a smoking deal on the GO engines now.

From what you describe $75 isn't a bad price, but it does give me pause since you can get new GO's here in the US for not much more. I'd get it without pause at around the $50 to $60.

I guess you have to ask what your priorities are. Is having a GX-7R important to you? Will you mind if you have to pump money into to fix things? Maybe getting an engine already broken in important to you. I don't know; you'll have to figure all that out for yourself.

$75 for 5 gallon with rod n rr bearing change sound tricky, but if you can get around $50 i would say ok since $50 like jackpot (gamble).

Sorry, I sold all 8 of them. I look forward to be getting more GxII plus and Champion engines from Bellgate.

Kinda strange question isnt it? Lol Its not terribly important to me to have a gx7r. Im partial to no company. If a company were to supply me with a motor with little cash out of pocket i may form some bias towards that company, if not id like the very best possible motor for my money.
Im thinking the nitro stuff goes away for the winter and i focus on my brushless sct. Then in the spring ill go buy a new Rossi Bloody or P5.

Frankly those Taiwanese motor have no problem keeping up with well known motor, in term of durability, easy to get 4-5 gallon n more. When money is not concern, those well known motor is the best

Even some of the not so well known motors are way overpriced imo....im not quite sure what makes a Virtus a $700 motor and thats a well known motor, what makes some Argus motors $300+ or GO? Arent half the motors out there SH?

I agree with overpriced motor, honestly consistency and reliability in track result will make a decent motor looks good... Dont believe what u see n hear, try 1 n tell us
