I'm surprised there isn't more chat on the usa thread. Am I the only one who owns it? I know the next 1 I buy I will do ALL the normal prep I always do. But I will not take it apart!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only to seal.
I have never sealed any GO motor I have owned, and have never had a problem. The 2 x carb O Rings, pinch bolt O Rings and the back plate O Ring are all you need. I reckon the less you disturb the O Ring seals the better, so unless you are doing a routine check of rod play etc, or changing rod / bearings just leave it alone and run it. |

Yeah, it a fun layout. No real big air like Matt said, but it flows very well and is very fast if you get it right.
The camera angle flattens everything out a bit. There are a few technical features you can't really see in the pics. Small membership, very limited funds, and all volunteer labour (like the normal 4 or 5 guys who rock up to all the working bee´s), means we can't get too carried away with high maintainence jumps and things. 42.1 - 42.3 sec is a really hot lap. |

Our club also has a small member base with low funds, and the same 6-7 guys help with maintenance. I think its the same at most clubs ?? |
Here is a link to a video of a few quick laps on the track taken a few months ago in the height of summer, when the track was very dry and dusty and a bit blown out (may have posted this before, can't remember).
Mugen MBX-6T & GO GX-5R / 2072  Since this clip was taken we have rotary hoed the track and re-rolled it to a nice hard packed and smooth surface ready for our winter season, and also added several more jumps around the place. Turned a couple of single jumps into doubles, and re-designed the hill section in the back right hand corner to slow the guys down a bit. Flanno, Craig is hoping to make the trip to the FEMCA Truggy Champs in August. Would be good to watch you guys going head to head :sneaky: http://www.rcracer.co.nz/Forum/viewt...hp?f=19&t=4260 |

Plug Type
Hi
I've just finished breaking in a GX5R. I use 30% nitro fuel and don't have the shim installed. Are P4 plugs the most appropriate choice here? Should I run the shim as I'm running 30%? Cheers Ben |

Cheers Ben the stock shimming 0.5mm should be fine for 30%, if you keep blowing plugs then take out one of the 0.1 shims and put in the 0.2 shim that comes with the motor for a total of 0.6mm for atleast 10-15ltrs then go back to stock shimming, as you prefere OS plugs "thats ok" but I'd go colder for 30% like a p5 or P6 |
Thanks flanno. I just got a couple of p4s so I'll see how I go with them and switch to p5-6 afterwards.
