What clutch setup are people running with the GX-5R. Will my stock 3 shoe aluminum hold up to it? I'm running KHz hards and they hold up fine on my .28 Sport motor, I have just over a gallon on them, I know there are better setups but will this hold up on these race engines?
Well written explanation on the tuning of short versus long needle. You really make the long needle sound nice. I don't think I'll mind which I get after that. You should copy/paste that on the stickied tuning bible just as a reference for people. Grizz I found that link you posted very informative thanks for directing me. I would have considered the MG66 you suggested (Flanno) but I'm a family man and I really can't afford any luxury's. Just gotta get the most bang for my buck with some durability as well! Thanks Flanno for taking the time to chime in on my questions. Everyone else was doing a good job in your absence! :) Rich |

Has anyone seen the Youtube video of the RB guy dyno-ing a MG66? The dyno is showing almost 6H.P. That seems to crazy to believe.....

(RB guy)Dennis' jaw dropped, couldn't beleive his eyes. The test was more a comparison in the fuels to prove the bio fuel could still produce the same results as normal RC fuel. I did here something about the dyno, some problem with how got that reading, I don't know the whole story on the actual figure reading but I'm sure Massive will chime in and give us the facts. I run 3 shoe MM flywheel with Ofna ST alloy shoes with M2C 1.1mm springs on my 66 And I run 3 shoe AnswerRC flywheel with AnswerRC rc8 alloy shoes with asendancy 1.1mm springs on my 5 and 7 port GO' AnswerRC USA has a MG on e bay, priced quite well I'v heard. |
Well that was kinda a cop out really. I'm still a little geen so I think I'll start with the GX5R before I start messing with Mods. Thanks for the heads up tho!
How does the 5R's bottom compare with the B5? Just curious as I run with one all the time and I've drove it and liked it. I just want something I can get the pipe and engine for a good price and I wanna try something different than what all my buddy's run. That's why I'm gonna "go with the go":sneaky: I'm always wanting a lot of torque cuz I'm always loose on approaches...... sometimes so much I stop to straighten up.... Hey, everybody's gotta start somewhere right! |

Hey, everybody's gotta start somewhere right! If ya mean the Werks B5 , I don't know. But the GX5R has heaps of bottom end punch. And yes, we all started walking before we could run. I noticed your signature, how ya liking the A main fuel ? |

Most of us on here will only give advice on something like that if we have actually run it ourselves, no guess work or hear-say, just honest opinions. Things are too costly in this sport to be led up the garden path with mis-information :) |
+1 we are only on here to help!

I absolutely love the A-main fuel. It lowered my engine temps by 20* thats no lie 20* and really woke the engine up. I run it in my sport 28 that came in my RTR and on the short straight on the track my friends and I built I run right with race engines. Now I know it's just fuel but it really made a difference in my engine. I ran Byron's and O'donnell before and while they ran adequate my engine ran 250-260 with good smoke. With the A-main I run 235-240 with a thin trail and I'm getting right around 7.5-8 mins. which I don't think is bad considering it's an RTR motor. One of my friends who bought the RC8RS with the same motor was shaking his head the other day. He said, "My engine never ran that good." The only difference was the fuel and a couple months more tuning experience. I love this fuel and my LHS has gallons of it and Sidewinder at every race. I'll take the A-main all day. Great fuel IMO
