looking for the restrictor kits .....How much are they and who has them?
I ran the 7 port tonight with the 053 and it felt to much like a high powerband motor .......I think I'm running to aggresive of a clutch.....dynamite long wear shoes and gold springs, losi 8. I think If i put a restrictor in there I can calm it down a bit...and go with a different spring setup......Thoughts?

What do you mean by high powerband motor, are you trying to get more bottom end.

I would reccomend checking the authorized dealer page on Racefactorindustries.com find a dealer close to you and anyone should have or be able to get restrictor kits.

I like a 7mm restrictor in the 7port personally, But sometimes I will put a standard head button on to tame the engine down.

JB, going to a softer clitch packege will help tame it down some, i have a friend that's running one of my motors and in a losi, he whent to all carbon shoes to soften it up some, made it easier to drive, if the bottom to mid is to much the smaller restrictore will help some, some guys are running a 6.5 in truggy so it has the power but it may help some, but you will see a increase in runtime as well, I'm guessing as well that your looking for a smoother bootm to mid is that correct, I am running my modded 7 port with M2C hard light shoes and 2 1.1 and 1 1.0 and a 2060 OS pipe, it working out very well.

i got my 18R today and feel like this is gonna be a very good lil engine...my only worry is the carb (metal), other than that is looking like a very nice lil engine...i think its gonna work well in the CRT.5...

also im wondering if there is a aftermarket cooling head that will fit on the 18R???

I haven't taken the time to try, anyone know if the Nova restrictors will work?

If they do, and jbmccoy is who I think you are, l'll hook you up this Friday.

I have 2 turbo 5's and love them. Currently running one is my 8T with a JP2, I know that it's not the best pipe for the motor but currently it's the best I have, reading this thread it seems that I need to chase down a Dynamite 053.

yes the nova carb inserts will work on the Go carbs...

the 053 will give the 5port even more monster bottom end, so if you try the 086 you will get the top end out of the 5port without having to worry about the bottom being the 5port has so much bottom the way it is...

Well my GO 5 port died today.......only had a 1.5 gallons on it........I was taking it out of my losi and puting it in my Sp2 and the pinch bolt that holds the carb still broke off..I didn`t over tighten the pinch bolt because the carb was always loose.........Anyways there is a happy ending to this story..I just had a P5X die the other day do to a worn out p/s,so I replaced the p/s in the p5x with the p/s/r out of the go 5 port and shazaaam!!! I have a engine again with on 1.5 gallons on it

Today was the first 3 of 4 qualifiers at the Illinois Indoor Nitro Championships held at Leisure Hours in Joliet, IL. Good turn out of about 165 entries. 92 buggies and 40 or so truggies among them. A really tough crowd with top pros like Billy Easton, Matt Gosch, Sonny OH and Aaron Pucci to name a few.

The exciting news is all of the Go motors there!!!! Go Tech motors make up a full %5 of all motors run!! I'll have a nice picture of everyone taken tomorrow under the Go Tech banner.

My 3 port is a screamer and I'm getting about 9:22 mins @ 215 degrees. I was just going to break it in and then put in the 5 port but this thing can hang with anything on the track so I'm leaving it in. I may even put in a turbo button. The Dynamite 086 pipe is great with this motor but I just got the BU120L-04 torque pipe from Vantage and may try that after racing is done.

Go Tech is turning some heads and winning converts!

I think a big block might be overkill for a Revo depending on the type/size of the track you're running on and how the truck is set up. Been there done that and not sure I'm convinced a big block is the right way to do it. Normally I'd say go big or go home but in this case I'm thinking otherwise...I'm very excited to get out there and start racing my Revo next year along with my Losi, hopefully both will be Go powered. I'm really excited to try the .18 in mine...the stock 2.5R Traxxas motor and pipe works wonders in my Revo on a 100x175 track. I'm sure having the motor modded and changing the pipe/header would help out a little bit.

If the Go tech .18 can turn out RPMs like the os .18 it will easily hand with the larger engines. Ive seen Revos with OS .18 outrun my savage with LRP z28 and thats a fast engine.

Well i finished up the breakin on the GO 7 port and have put another 5 tanks on, still alot of pinch but that should go away soon, i can tell already the 2 1.1 and 1 1.0 is going to be a little much, i will goto 2 1.0 and 1 1.1 to help smooth it out some, the pipe is working well with this combo and really allowing the motor to breath, after i took the alum of the head the motor was around 207 and still able to break the tires loose on the sreet with bow ties, the top is showing it's capability already, and the bottom is going to need some deeling with for sure, i thought for sure the 2060 would aid in this, but i will try a short header to see if that helps. I also ran the test 08 motor in a different car and now i have it in a RC8, this is one reason for the overpower on the bottom, when i put the 17 bell on it this will be the ticket i think.
