Derek that Go 5 port will be perfect in a truggy, but most people including myself feel that the Go .25 is just about the best truggy engine ever made. Similar mileage to a .21 and a usable torque curve that is amazing on the track.
Yes retro, that engine looks exactly like a Go 5 port to me, its funny how they put Italian tuned on the head. Its great news that the engines are becoming so popular.
We also have that EBM5 engine coming out soon and that engine will be assembled in the U.S. by Ed bridges. Everyone will also be broken in and dyno tuned as well.
I know I haven't spoken much about these engines yet but they are going to be amazing, A TKO ceramic rear bearing, not some no name ceramic bearing. They will be black heads with black cases for nice styling, and they will also include a industry first, which will be a ti nitride coated throttle slide for the smoothest throttle pull you can imagine. I know Ed has been getting the engines to spin an extra 5k to 6k rpm without any issues. He also told me that every mod he has done has not done anything to effect fuel mileage so people getting 10 min. pit stops will not be impossible.

for awhile in the U.S. the engines came with a long low speed needle it changed the way the engine needed to be tuned and had a lot of people complain about the carb. The engines now feature the older short LSN and those issues have gone away, I have never ran anything but a Go carb on my engines and have worked thru the issues with the previous generation carbs, the factory has updated the carb many times and it is a solid carb. now with no issues.
One thing people need to remember when tuning the Go engines is that the needles are much more sensitive then other carbs. so when you have the engine close to tune a 1 hour change may be to much.
Ed did a complete test of the carb at his work shop and said that it is a solid carb and one of the best hes worked with, including how well it insulates the fuel the pull and any other issues, like I said just remember the needles are sensitive and you won't have a single issue.

Derek, don't be put off by the carb stories. As others here on the forum have stated, there is nothing wrong with the Go carbs.
The longer LSN needle just tunes a little different, that's all. It does give a very smooth flow of power to the motor when tuned correctly. Here in NZ pretty much all of us run the long LSN motors (Gen 4 and 5) with great success. As stated the motors are now coming out with a traditional short LSN that tunes like any other motor. Value and performance for your dollar, you won't get a better deal than a Go motor
