Hyper ST Macstar .28
#1
Evening all. Finally after hours of frustration I have got this truck running spot on. I ignored the comments along the lines of the .28 Mac Star being of use only as a door stop. I read forums read the manual fiddled with carb settings and tried everything. But what worked was trying new fuel. I bought a gallon of Byrons Race Gen2 20% nitro and boom she flies!!

Which comments?????
You have only 3 posts so far I could see in your profile and none of them about tuning issues.
But what was the old fuel?
- was it really old and so contaminated?
- was it an airplane fuel with too much oil cintent?
- had it a too low nitro content?
- Did you ever shake the can before taking out fuel?
All reasons that could be your issue.

Hi, I was referring to comments I had read elsewhere regarding the Macstar .28 engine. The fuel I was previously using was fresh 25% nitro content. Optifuel or Optimax l I think it was.
My post is a celebration comment on keeping going when tuning issues are frustrating. It could be that I hit on the right needle settings and the new fuel is a red herring. Either way through trial and error I have got my truck running sweet.
