Can anyone list the differences between the 21j, 22e and 22d carbs? What gives the 22e more power? And is the the same as the blok p and m carbs?

After using the 22e and 22d carbs, I'm not a fan personally. Neither is Drake; there's a reason he outfits his engine & Ronda's engine with 21J carbs.

If anyone is having issues w/idle and wandering tunes, if you have a 21J carb to try, throw it on. The engines run better w/them IMO.
Do you have base needle settings for the 21J on the S03? I figure Drakes AD2 carb settings would not translate to the S03 since its a different bore and stroke.

Still loving my S03 w/2090 pipe...... little tighter tuning window... I just think people are tunning on the box to much ....run it on the track and a Little goes a long way on the needles....

samurai Lrt carb is carb that came on samurai 321b V2.
this carb is a Os 22c carb. This carb came on os b2102. the ninja B04 engine also used the 22c carb to. Usually 22c mid needle tends to be sunk in a bit. I don’t have a engine with me right when I’m posting this but I’ll post up when I do.

Hello jersey & wfo,

If the Carburettor is the same as OS 22C Carb, the Mid Needle should be 1 turn-in from Flush. The Low Needle should be 1 turn-out from Flush.

Chees..

I just ordered an SO3 broken by Adam Drake. I usually send to AMR but buying this already done is super convenient. I plan on installing it in my yet to be built XB8 2021, so hopefully I won’t have to take material off for ultimate fit. Question.. how important is it to get the matching pipe? I really like the looks and price of this Performa pipe but am assuming is not tuned for the Protek. Can this ruin an engine? https://www.absolutehobbyz.com/perfo...old-35-55.html

Curious to know this as well, or something similar to this.

I have an S03 Samurai that I've been running in my NB48 2.0 with Novarossi 9901 pipe and 41020 (ie, long) manifold. I basically only have 1 track to run, and it's very low speed so I figure bottom end power & acceleration take priority, even going so far as to run a 12T clutch bell.

I've wondered how much performance I'm leaving on the table, if any, by not running whichever OS/ProTek exhaust setup that is intended for bottom end. I'd hesitate to drop ~$70 to find out because I have a hunch that it would be hard to perceive any difference, but at $170? Pretty tough sell.

Yeah, $160 is expensive. I emailed Chad Phillips at Absolute Hobbyz, and he said the combination would not work very well.

Hipex 2135 is a good pipe option for os based engines. Tebo runs one on maxima. Flashpoint 2146 that comes with fp02 (os spec 2) I believe is same pipe as hipex 2135. Maifiled used the flashpoint pipe on his cars at dnc 2 years ago.
ultimate 2141 works good on os also. Don’t get fast lock one though cause they have air leak.
I’ve seen my friend use a ultimate 2142 which looks like the orion performa 2149 on samurai s03 he likes it. I’ve seen a friend use a werks 2058 on os spec 2 2103R in truggy he liked it.

different pipes can work on different engines. If your after similar performance as the os 2090 get the hipex 2135 or flashpoint 2146. Stronger metal then os pipe to. I use 2135 on all my cars now.

Haven’t seen any posts about the Ryan maifield edition Samurai. Ordered mine yesterday, will be here tomorrow. Any reviews/recommendations to change before first start?

I’ve been thinking about the ProTek R03 myself.
