I'm putting this on the calendar. I should have plenty of time to get the Kyosho setup

Nice, maybe we could car-pool?? This sounds like FUN! And by the way - don't be so quick to abandon the SC-10 - you're money with it

Car-pooling is definitely an option. The SC10 isn't going anywhere until I have some time in with the Kyosho

Shannon and I will work up some pdfs of the rules, we have in place spec slash rules for our local club, and Stock will follow Roar rules with the exception of allowing kit motors, kinda like the ECT details will come from shannon and darren most likely (believe its any SC tire not just kit, so goose, bow ties, calibers etc.. not positive here so dont quote this yet, Shannon has been mastermine this whole thing so far) and mod is open obviously

we are hosting a 3 day onroad race this weekend so updates to this may be light

I just weighed my Slash RTR kit with the 8.4V 3200Mah battery that it came with on a calibrated UPS scale and it weighed 5.48lbs.

Correct me if I am wrong, but by running a 2S lipo in the 4000Mah range, wouldn't this drop the weight even more?

Kit tires: Does this have to be the normal kit tires and wheels, or can we run the kit BFG tires and wheels that come on the Greg Adler 2WD kit?

Thanks!

you have to make weight with the 6 cell batt, or lipo you may have to add some.the additional weight on the rear actually helps.

I will have to check on the BFG tires as of now they are not approved but if they come on all kits that will change.

What are people using for weigh. Just some sticky fishing weights? Sorry for all the questions, I am a noob to racing.

Cheers

Yes running a lipo will drop the weight even more... That is the idea behind the rule. I dont know how your 7 cell nimh is only weighing in at 5.48lbs? The weight was based off of a 6 cell 3600 nimh pack in a out of box slash. I did not use a super precise usps scale though just a simple digital scale from harbor freight

We wanted to create an equality in the class without going as far as saying you have to run this specific battery! So to make that happen we had to account for people running nimh packs as well as lipo packs. Most of our guys last summer running lipos had to add 5-6oz of weight (honestly the car handled better). And after a few practice laps some clay stuck to the chassis will help that weight and the weight is race ready so, bodies, and transponders are included in that weight. So if you would be running a house transponder you can add that weight on.

Can you link us to that kit you were mentioning? i dont remember the 2wd kits coming with the different tires even on the special editions but havent seen new kits.
