Then I guess you should have made the trip over to the store with us when we called. Jose and I called 4-5 guys for motor clarifications Friday. Not only was Ruben the only official to call back but he did so promptly.

well then, that explains when the question came up on SUNDAY, JOSE had no response, other then, "why didn't you tell me yesterday"

At the end of the day, the issue should have been why didn't we tech all weekend except the mains. It posed more issues than just a black ring v. yellow ring, it DQ'd a b main 1st place podium finish that leaves the other racers in a bad spot and makes the racer that was DQ'd not excited about his weekend or the race. So lesson learned for next year, tech all weekend to work out the issues or don't tech at all.

Lots of feedback and I am glad everyone is excited about the NWIC this year.
We are close to nailing down the dates and like last year we will be getting started mid Oct. Track order should be the same, but we are trying to do something exciting for the finals and are still working on it.
Points-Once again we will be doing individual points and team points. Randy Sides will be handeling the points for the series.
Rubber tires-We will be using the Sorex 28 Speedmind tires. Speedmind will be supporting the series again this year and most of the racers have these tires already. Best thing is they work good.
Bodies: in foam class we will be adopting the GBS rules for this year. No change to rubber class rules. Per the ROAR guidelines.
All brushless motors must follow the ROAR rules. We will also be checking rotors to ensure they fall into the guidelines.
Classes:
Mod Foam Sedan-Lipo, Sub C, any motor. GBS body spec applies.
Super Stock Foam Sedan: 13.5, lipo, Sub-c, GBS body spec
Stock Foam Sedan: 17.5, ROAR Stock brushed Motor, lipo, Sub C,GBS body spec
1/12 Scale: 13.5, 4 cell Sub C, there isn't a lipo on the market yet for T-bar and non T bar cars. We will revist this prior to race #1 as a few products are being tested for a final determination.
Super Stock Rubber Sedan; 13.5, lipo, sub c, Speedmind Sorex 28.
Stock Rubber: 17.5, ROAR Stock brushed Motor, Lipo, Sub C, Speedmind Sorex 28.
Pro-10: 13.5, 4 Cell Sub C, Spec foam tire (coming soon), Pro -10 approved body.
We have decided to go with the motor rules that we have as ROAR for 2009 and most of the major carpet events will be following most of these guidelines.
Also Can't forget; Doug will be back to run all of races, so things will run smoothly.
We should have the schedule finalized in the next few weeks and will get it posted.

warning, some motors come with and without colored rings under the same part number, if you allow the black ring motors to compete, theres nothing stopping a guy from running a 13.5 in the 17.5 class, or a 10.5 in the 13.5 class and don't say thats cheating and no one would that, as previously posted people cheated on the tires they used.

Why at this level is it necassary to make this even a discussion. Is there no trust left in RC? This is a club level series where we are suppose to be having fun first. (That is why I show up hung over atleast once a weekend.)

The whole brushless motor thing appears to be going through some serious teething pains right now. It would seem that the difference between Roar legal and not is simply the color of a ring and has nothing to do with the rest of the motor. I know a lot of racers. I don't know any of them trying to cheat. I wish the cheat word would just be dropped from this topic. There does seem to be some mistrust and that needs to go away too. The part that discourages me right now is that I went looking for Roar approved motor, bought one, used it in racing only to find out that it was indeed not legal only because it did not have a currently approved colored ring. That is frustrating. I will ask the manufacture to replace it so that I can continue to represent their products. I am not saying that my name is golden and that I need to have manufactures bending over backwards for me.... but I would like to have a little respect after I have purchased so much of their equipment. It will be interesting to hear their response. It may open a door they can not afford to open, but then who knows. Even if they have some kind of trade in policy for a very minor processing fee would be an acceptable option.
