I never got a discount at irc last winter (nor would I ask)... I just assumed that paying the normal race day fee would help keep the track open for future racedays.

I think that all the racers that come will be pleasantly surprised by the facility, the various RC activities going on at the same time, the food court and the hobby shop. We have been offering a 5% rebate on all purchases which will continue. Special pricing and rebates will more than offset any entry fee cost - whatever it might be. We are considering reduced practice fees, daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly. Everything is open to suggestion right now.

The address is 1235 Zerega Avenue, Bronx, NY. This location is 5 minutes over the Whitestone Bridge and about 10 minutes over the Triborough. It is 4 minutes from Bruckner Hobbies.
Thank you

Great news Tom. I hope your open to considering offering local racers reserved pit spaces (for a fee of course). I'd like a 10x10 private room equipped with 60inch flat panel, leather sofa and sleeper section for when my wide asks me to leave! LOL!

And for the record, in 20+ years of travel racing I've never experienced a track offering a discount to race resulting from travel and toll expenses. We as racers need to realize that tracks have a huge overhead cost and it would be in worst interest to have a track go under because of insolvency. The race fees are nominal compared to cost of travel and equipment. So having a track smack in the middle of NY, NJ, CT, Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island is a blessing. I'm confident Tom will be reasonable in charging race fees.

You'll be happy to know that there are about 5 bathrooms in the building. One has a shower and bath, so you are all set. The race fees will be the usual that other tracks charge. Since we will be open 7 days a week we are considering practice fees for the entire week or longer. We are putting in locker spaces. The pits will be - bring your own table at the beginning. Once we know how the pits are working we will put in permanent tables. You will be invited early to help iron out the bugs.

We will be in the Bronx, 7 miles from the GWB, minutes from the Whitestone, Throggs Neck and Triborough. A building like this in Manhattan would not be affordable. About 1 mile from Bruckner Hobbies. And we have parking.

Multiple bathrooms, showers, food court and parking...this is going to become a home away from home for many racers. Now all you new to offer is a day care section to drop off the kids and I'm all set... On a separate note, Make this place a kid friendly site and you'll be amazed how many young racers will get involved in the hobby. Live the slot care option, I can introduce you to some senior Boy Scout leaders in the Bronx to promote a pine wood derby races.

Sounds fantastic, that building is huge, just checked it on Google maps. I hope the wheelchair access is good.
