What are you talking about?, I'm very very happy
I realized that I wasn't gonna be able to beat you out of first at around week 5. Specially when you started to rack up the points on Wednesdays....

I'm ok with second best....

You gotta admit though, it's been a hard fought battle

Freddy,
That's true. But I would rather come second than come first due to anyone else breaking.
I really like the 13.5 in the buggy. I think it is still plenty fast enough for the layout and seems a little smoother.
Who's racing tonight?
Just found out I won't be racing on Saturday. Ben has hockey play off semi final.

I'm gonna push people towards 10.5 motors in 2wd buggy. It will make for a stronger class at the trophy races and at the other area tracks.
I'm not going to make it a class rule yet, but that will be the direction I will steer people.
I do need some input from you guys though, What is the smallest capacity (mah) lipo battery a 2wd buggy running a 10.5, and still have full power by the end of an 8 minute main? Also what gears in what cars did you end up using?
2400? 3200?....Reedy lipos are the biggest bang for the buck so It would be that brand, and Novak Havoc systems are cheap too for Motor /Speedo Combos.
I want to be able to stock the hobby shop with a low cost solution to getting into the buggy class.
I'd also like to start pushing the Slash class a bit more, so I'm gonna get in some 7 cell NiMh packs in for those.

Mark,
the most common setup is 10.5, orion 3800's 30 c batteries. Pleanty of runtime, and just as fast as Kyle...
I played with 78/26 on saturday, full boost on my speedo and had plenty in the end.
My slash runs a 6 cell batt, and is just as easy to drive, and just as fast as on the track. More power doesnt mean faster, and plus it would be a few dollars cheaper for the Slash entries to buy a 6 Cell pack, insted of a 7 cell pack. Just my 2 cents.
Also 6 cell would be easier to drive for all of the beginners that run slash. Many people alwayls like to over power their racecars whatever class they may be participating in. I think make it a little slower, turnining out to be more entertaining, and more controlled at the same time. Slow is fast.

I ran a Novak 10.5, Orion 3800, 78/25 in my losi.
When I was running my 3 year old Scorpion 3200 25c packs with a stock brushed motor it seemed like enough power.
If your looking for a budget set up that means its gonna be for a newbie who will be at the begining of the learning curve for driving and setup so the smaller packs should be fine. If they have full power down the straight that just means there going to spin out in the infield. Your probably going to have a hard time finding anyone who is running smaller packs now because we're all part of the bigger is better crowd.
The Slash class is where its at for newbies. You can't beat it for durability or price. And its fun to watch newbies bounce off each other with them.
They realy force people to learn throttle control with the crappy tires.
When my son is old enough to race im sarting him off with a Slash! That might not be for a while but I'm sure my Slash will stil be around.

I just bought a 3.5 motor for the XXX...
Just messing.
, I think running the limited class is an awesome Idea.I'm running the:
Losi XXXcr
Orion 3800 mah 30C pack
Novak 10.5
Gearing -- 78t Spur and 25t pinion at full tilt on the radio. The pack usually lasts me about 12+ minutes of running time.
I've run the pack fully charged, for a couple of minutes in hot laps, ran the 8 minute main, then play on the track after the mains for about 4 minutes or so, before noticing a drop in power.
