Hey Menace,

One of the racers from my club was told by his wife this week to take her to hospital as the baby was coming. He got her into the car but was a bit slow - he delivered the baby himself in the back seat with the assistance of the emergency services over the phone.

So, if your wife says take me to the hospital, even if you are in the middle of your build, I'd get to it if I were you.

By the way, happy ending all round - both mum and baby are doing well, although dad may take a while to get over it. Still, he now has a baby boy to buy RC presents for.

this week end is my first pro tourer race meet so im not on the pace at all yet just want to get out there and finish

Otherwise i have spent too many years playing outdoor cricket in the heat to have any love for hot weather any more.
If it's a stinker i'll be inside watching the cricket in front of the aircon

ahh those were the days, 45 deg heat, dressed in long pants and collared shirt, wearing pads gloves and helmet. and was expected to hit a red leather ball so others could run after it. ! if you hit it hard enough you didnt have to run , now that was the plan

I thought it was a rule to only hit the ball hard enough to not have to run
the other rule was if the Captain won the toss on a hot day, if he chose to field we were going to go on strike

luckily i was the captain ! and its the only way to play, hit it hard enough so you didnt have to run. i once hit 104 not out. 16 overs and believe it or not, 9 6's and 8 fours. didnt have to run that much that day ! maybe the English should adopt this as part of their game plan. but a new type of format tomorrow, but probably the same result. sorry guys.
