Hi All, I have just purchased a 705 on ebay and await it's arrival some time next week. I will be doing parking lot racing for the most part with small tracks, and large tracks occasionally. As I am new to the 705, I do not know what parts I need for tuning and spares. Could anyone please put together a list in order of necesity for spares, and one for tuning? I would like to do some racing with rubber tires on small tracks, and foam tires on large tracks. I live in southern california if that makes any difference. ANY info would be greatly appreciated!!!! I just sold my NTC3, finally, and have finally transfered over to a definately more raceable car. And, if someone could explain the whole thing about why you change the drive pulleys on the car, I would also greatly appreciate that. I have been racing for 7 years, but have never had a car as good as the 705. So, ANY info whatsoever will be duely noted and appreciated. I thank you in advance for any advice/help!

Well, I cut the short post on the existing rear floating mount meant for the Lola bodies and leaving it flat. I drill a hole so that I can mount the longer 808144 mounting body post on the rear floating mount.

My 2 speed doesnt seem to be engaging. I took it out and cleaned it. It has a bit of dirt build up in there. The motor isnt running as good as it used to and maybe it just needs to be adjusted. I havent run the car yet but was just wondering how often people maintain their 2 speed in the 705 and what do they ussualy do to keep it working well.

Have you adjusted the 2 speed springs in the shoe and loosen it little by little? If after you've done that and the 2nd speed does not engage, my guess is that it's due to the 2nd speed bearing hub wearing out. The more the 2nd speed aluminum hub wears out, the further the gap. You can adjust this gap if yours is the white shoe like the one that comes on the 710. If not, you could add the grub screw yourself.

BTW, the grey shoes are the older ones (902415). If you have to replace the shoes, make sure you get the white optional shoes (902416).
