Region 12 Fuel Championships

Scott,
The rep of Compton used to be much harder than it is now but I would still discourage you from venturing too far in Comptown; especially at night. Personally, I think CP is one of my favorite tracks. The grip is good and it flows great. The bumps are part of the racing strategy IMO. My motto for the CP sweeper... if you can pin it, you can win it
The key is keep an eye on your stuff and your pit neighbor's. I had my cell phone jacked and I am sure you recall not too far from there when Brad got his stereo boosted. FWIW, I stay at the Hampton Inn one or 2 exits west and it is great. They even have a pretty complete breakfast for free. The downside, the last time I stayed I think they were making a porno in the room next door. The upside, they could care less if I Dremeled bodies at 3AM

Cp is a fun track.. and like anywhere else you got to keep an eye on your stuff. I only bring out what I need leave the rest in the car.
The track is good and fun.. NEWS: Mugen is NOT going to take over this facility (quote from Robbie Collins last week.)
I was at CP when it got started.. they do the best they can on the limited budget they have James works as a dj/sound man so he does a lot of night duties so if he's a bit cranky..just smile and be thankful you got a place to race. These are good hearted poeple. Bring James a frapaccinno once ina while he'lkl be heppy and when he asks you do do something just do it ok.... keep him happy and they day will go like fun.
The compton at night hasn't been an issue for me..(I'm not white and kinda scary mean looking) but there is "turf" you need to be aware of and I suggest if you've never spend any time in rough neighborhood. stay in well lighted places near your hotel and watch the action on COPS on TV.
just make sure you check into a hotel that doesn't rent out rooms by the hour.

Region 12
I guess I will be the first to say, that we may as well make the Ron Paris Memorial Race, the ROAR Region 12 Championship Race in "October"
The ROAR region 12 event it should be.
It makes perferct sense, and keep the tradition of 1/8th scale and 1/10th scale the way it should be !!!! Open to all !!!!!!!!!!! of course based on entries.
That would not only keep the Region 12 races the way it has historically been, but remember one of the Pioneers of the sport remembered in a way that is fitting to a person that deserves the recognition.
