Looks like Paolo had a very good run going and then ran into problems.

swauger's shock pops off in the beginning of the race, so he started in last, then just picked them off 1 at a time. then got a stop and go penatily then caught paulo again , once he got by he put it on cruise control. shimo was the only one that was about as fast as mikey. what a race

This is a Mugen sponsored event. You have 8 non-Mugen cars in the 1/8th A-main, you have 1 car that is not as popular as the others (i.e. Delta) and is supposed to be crap (don't race Dave Campell, he'll prove you wrong). You have Mike Swauger winning the race for you, who has won the race twice before, so if he wasn't there you'd be stuck with a single Mugen in the top 10. Plus, you're winning car is a second generation MRX4, the MRX-R (can't Mugen come up with something on their own without having to borrow from Serpent). You have Serpent taking the majority of A-main positions in 1/8th, 4 in 1/10 and 2 of the top 3 in 1/10th. Baker took 7th in a car completely new to him. Paolo, who had won the 1/10 had already driven a 150+ laps in a 60 minute race (was it 60??) and was winning the 1/8 until Paolo's car had problems. It was very tight with Swauger.
Jeez, when Mike Swauger's car lost a shock at the begining of the race they must have sh*t their pants at Team Mugen. There was a real possibility that Mugen could have been locked out of winner's circle completely in both classes.
Every driver knows that anyone in the A-main can take the number 1 spot. An accident by any driver can change first place to dead last for anyone in an instant. If you went by stats, if you were an up and coming driver, what car would you choose? One with a 10, 20, 30 or 40 percent chance of ending up in the A-main with a shot at number 1?

I suspect that with less airflow being allowed through your disk assembly, that it will get hotter faster than if you used 2 vented disks. It will, however, be 1/2 way lighter between the full-solid disk and a full-vented disk.
But please keep us informed!

If you're bored and want to try something new, I'd say give it try. I used the normal pads BTW.

rob
rob you must of watched a differnt race than most of us. palo chunked a tire after mikey passed him. mikey also was the only one who did a tire change. =
