Only hop up is the lightweight engine mounts (which trust me weight just about the same as the original ones), MR-12 with slight mods (), 51604 pipe.

With the help of a Dremel, modified the switch/transponder to sit together and lower and mounted the throttle servo below the chassis instead of being on top (this drops it about 8mm and lowers the COG)

novarossi - did you have issues with the brake linkage clearing the spur gear when mounting the throttle servo lower like that? I remember mine is very close at the standard mounting position already.

Have a 48 first gear spur on it and clears it by about 4mm. I've checked it over and over, its fine.

You can also mount the brake linkage from the top of the brake lever instead from the bottom

nice. thx man. I'll do this mod too when I go through the bearings this weekend.

Anyone else have any building tips (while I've got the thing apart)?

For those of you who have run the MTX-3 already, have you guys had any issues with the screws stripping? I finally found some time to build my car (it's been sitting in the box since early November) but haven't run it yet. Everything's perfect right now but I'm concerned that after a few runs, some of these screws will strip the plastic they thread into.

Only reason I'm concerned about this is a friend had a NTC3 which uses similar tight thread screws and everything started stripping after the 4th race or so.. my Serpent had screws with threads that were spaced further apart and these last much longer since there's more plastic between each thread..

Just wondering.

novarossi What pinion are you running with the 48 first gear spur? i was running a 46 at moorebank last week and i was wheel spinning out of the tight corners :(

Im running the same gearing on 2nd as you and it was awesome
