nice car, how much where those A arms? - make sure you check them alot bc they could bent some during a little rub and really throw off you suspension.

Have a question guys....
I just shifted to a Mugen car and I really cant figure out how to get rid of the drivetrain friction. I used to run an FW05R so I am kind of spoiled when it comes to the type of free wheeling the car does. Any suggestions? Thanks :)

The first thing to do/try is either use the Kawahara low friction belts, or to use the stock Mugen belts, but soak them in WD 40 for a few days. The other thing is to know is the bearings will actually free up the more you run them. At least until they finally start to get gritty. A shaft drive car is just a more free setup in terms of the drivetrain.

Tnx Scott. Tried the wd40 when I got the car but it only made a very slight difference. Where do you get your kawahara low friction belts?

I don't actually run the Kawahara belts. If I wanted some, I would either have my local spot order them or I would just call Mugen USA and get them there.

Any particular reason why you dont run the kawahara belts?

23T Pulley

Will the V-one RRR 23T side pulley fit on my mtx3? To change the drive ratio? I donīt want to use the 16-19 conversion(less roll out)

gonzoY5 11-04-2004 05:14 AM

I've used the 23t from a Serpent Impact. Works great. Belt is a little too loose though.

I have been told the Kawahara belts do not last as long. I am guessing they probably cost more money. I having never actually seen any for sale either.
