CHARGE throttle servo laydown kit?

Has anyone used this? It looks sweet, but I'm looking for some feedback before I purchase it. How hard is the install? Any info would be great! Also, if anyone knows of a retailer in the US please LMK! Thanks

I like the one Cartman has on his car--though I think it's not really helpful.

Grinder had one on his car...and took it off, he didn't like it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I overheard the "MTX-4" might have a laydown th servo, so I was thinking of doing it to my mtx3 since I probably won't run out and get the new mtx as soon as it's out.
I was mainly going for the "cool" factor.

In addition to the laydown th servo, that's the same thing that I overheard the "MTX-4" migght have a laydown engine, as well.

Is this modification necessary? Is the engine tilted enough to affect the CG? At first glance, it seems to me that the engine is not tilted enough to affect anything.

A few questions about the kawahara clutch kit for the mtx3.

I am fitting the clutch kit to a brand new novarossi ns12s3 engine. I have had to put over a 1mm of shims behind the collet to raise the flywheel close to the nut for the flywheel but it still seems to far away because i cant tighten that nut without turning the crankshaft. How far if at all does the collet need to be shimmed out from te crankcase? Im also having difficulty with the bearing for the clutch bell. They are extremly tight over the snout of the shaft, has anyone had to sand down shafts a little to make the bearings easy to fit and remove???

Thanks.

don't be afraid to sand the crank chris, just clean it of before trying to put the bearing in. use wet and dry fine grit paper. bring it down to EC this saturday and i'll help you set it up.

It sounds like you might get the defective set of Kawahara SS Clutch. Mine does not give any problem. Besides, if you do not sand the crank shaft right, you might end up having the bearing wabble.

This 'mod' is rediculous. Did anyone ever stop to think for a moment how you are supposed to adjust the low end needle?

Well the engine is the heaviest and highest thing in the whole car, so any lowering of it would be a decent gain, I'd think.
But, yes, how to adjust the low end needle.

from a hole in the bottom of the chassis?

By the way, I am using the 3 Racing aluminum sway bar holders that have the cam adjustment on both sides. It makes it alot easier to adjust. And the fact that aluminum doesn't "squish" means that the settings don't change as much when you tighten down on the cam screws.

Whew! That whas alot of typing!

Ed, thanx for the tip. I bought the last one at the shop on sat. Its only $20 and WELL worth the price. I was able to do it in about 10 minutes, where before it was taking me 30 minutes to 40 minutes. If anyone is listening, GET IT! Well worth it.

Ed, we ran at Coral Springs yesterday. Nice track. Very smooth and a lot of grip.

Through a neatly drilled hole in the servo.

sparksy 09-13-2004 05:39 AM

the servo is not in the standard position. Unless it is a very big servo, there is room.
