Hey u run at crystal park? I am there almost every saturday!

anyway, honestly I think the V15 is over kill, too much power for 10th seden, unless you are running lola with some 35+mm rear tire otherwise it is hard to put the power down on the ground with the correct gearing. (you can gear it up higher to get the power down, but then you will never goign to hit the powerband)

eddiethefish 05-19-2004 03:51 PM

out of curiosity, how much is this type of engine?

never mind... found it.

$280 and $325?

sigh...

Speed De - Titanum Screws

Is there any other place where I can order titanium screws online???
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/images/speed_zm301.jpg

Buy them HERE ===> Dinball - RC Mart

There are others that sell bulk screws also....and maybe other packagers of screw kits for the MTX-3.....I've had nothing but good quality from Speedmind, although I've never tried their titanium screws......

Outside of you just wanting to have parts that is really the only extra thing you will need. And if you do run into problems I am sure somone around would help out seeing the Mugen is so popular and you know if you race with our group we all have some parts.
Kev, the hobby store that has the parts for the mugen also has a permanent on road track. I need all the practice i can get. I am also thinking of getting a tire truer. Bobby was telling me on sat to do the 16/19 conversion but to make sure i can true the tires so that that it wears evenly. If i get this setup, can you help mewith the tire trueing since i have never done it before? I am going to load up on some knuckles. I appreciate the help on sat. As for the regular maintenance on an RC car (lubing, cleaning the bearings and car, etc.) what should be done on the mugen? Anything special with the belts and pulleys? Also what about the centax clutch? I read to lub the thrust bearing after 30 minutes of racing. anything else?

HI people...

I personally use aluminium pulleys in my car, but they seem not to be very popular among you guys...

Have you guys found the pro's and con's of them?

cheers...

Derby Bros Racing 05-19-2004 04:57 PM

aluminum pulleys wear faster than plastic. it is just like the gearing on a car. the pinion wears faster than the spur since the pinion is aluminum.

now, when the aluminum pulley wears out, it becomes pointed just like a pinion. and when they are pointed, they are very hungry on belts... they eat belts alive!
