From softest to hardest:

- Purple.
- Blue (Stock on MTX3).
- Gray.
- White (Stock on MRX3).
- Pink (only rear).
- Red (only rear???? seemed to see a red spring set).

If plan to buy some springs found on the MTX3 works quite well with Blue and Gray, whites are probably too stiff and only suit on quite particular track conditions. Purple are too soft for normal conditions (have a set, but probably only work on wet, dusty tracks or the ones who uses rubbers use them. On foam aren't normally used).

Mugen Fast are the same type of foam as Ellegis with the same disparity on shore ratings (quite close but not exact, probably be +/-2 shore degrees between batches).

I tried, but can't seem to get thru the 1st 100 pages...

What's the deal on the front dogbones? What;s the best fix, is everyone using the MTx2's or CVD's?

Thanks

im using mtx-2 dogs, but u can take a length of fuel tubing and put it in each of the out drives on the one way or diff

I think that using the "A" ackerman plus a loose servo-saver setting allows the inside tire to turn too much allowing th bone to fall out. This seems to happen only whene you hit something or land off a corner dot.

I tried using O-rings and fuel line but the best seemed to be a pen spring cut to length.

Lola body's

Our club is going to try and have a few Lola body races to break things up. We will no doubt use a yokomo and wonder if there are lower shock mounts for the mtx3 to make it work. The Yok truck would have worked w/ no mods but not everyone agrees with the looks of it even though on our tight track it will no doubt work great.

Wow, the spring in the outdrives sounds like a cool trick, ill have to try that!

speaking of springs, has anyone tried springs on the 2 brake pins? i need to take my whole rear assembly apart for cleaning and diff maintnance before the season starts up, i may try it when i put it back together

jason102276 05-11-2003 07:09 PM

i am using the axle from a mtx3 outdrive with a mtx2 universal bone attached

i had problems breaking the mtx3 universals

i am using a spring on the negative side of the brake linkage when the throttle is opened the linkage pushes against the spring and opens the brake as far as possible for no drag

the mtx3 has a stopper on the brake lever so it only engages breaks one way the mtx2 ddint and if you pushed the lever back it would engage the brakes but mtx3 is better

Nytrochaos 05-11-2003 07:19 PM

jason, thats the break trick i was referring to with the springs, can you notice it actually working, or is just kina all show and no go......not that the springs look all that cool

jason102276 05-11-2003 07:25 PM

it works really well

my brakes used to drag on the mtx2 so i figured since i could do this on this car i would

dont want brakes dragging while running a one way so evry extra percaution is worth it especially when its almost free and so easy to do
