It would appear that the MTX3 rear uprights will fit on the MTX2 giving it the rear bite and roll center it was always lacking in the rear. MTX2's arent dead yet you just could never jack the upper arm high enough to allow you not to have to run 4 degrees of camber from hell. I have a full kawahara car and hate to give up on it yet as it will make a good outlaw car.

also the other way round so MTX3 can use 2 hubs for rubber racing. though i have chopped my 3 hubs and can now use spacers as i wish

MTX3

i also heard that the 2speed shaft can be used on the 2 so we can take advantage of the 2 shoe clutch and the 42 spur gear ,can someone confirm this please

there is no way this will work the shaft is too short and the pullies are wrong. see previous posts

is it true the mtx-3 is heavier than other touring cars?

i cant think of anywhere to save weight without spending a fortune on titanium

I weighed my touring cars today at the post office.
RS4-2- 3.72 lbs w/radio gear
MTX2- 4.15 lbs w/ radio gear
MTX3- 3.80 lbs bone stock w/ radio gear

The RS4 & MTX2 are nowhere close to stock so I'm not sure what they weighed out of the box. I wanted to weigh my MRX-3 also, but it's in pieces!!!! So I'll have to get that later.

jason102276 01-21-2003 02:11 PM

so how close to the roar minimum is it?

is it possibly the lightest of all touring cars? beside the hpi

has anyone found somewhere to get really large size clutch bell gears for large size tracks that fit the mugen centax

Havent tested but seems that is available a 22T from mugen and heard the possibility of fitting Yokomo GT4 pinions if you don't have enough with a 22/42 (I'll assure you a final ratio under 5:1 with the 22T).

Cartman 01-21-2003 02:22 PM

how big do you want the 1/8th scale are bigger

I weighted my car and is well under the 1700grams limit, put without problems my KO electrical switch and Failsafe and some ballast on the radio battery and I'm on the edge (need 10 grams more for peace of mind). Read previously that Manti weighted their car and got 1660 grams with all titanium and some aftermarket parts ready to run (without fuel).

Nope, if I'm not wrong, MRX3 pinion ends on 22T and puts you slightly under 5:1 ratio on the second gear .... (Cinci syndrome?) :sneaky:

mine wont be under weight with rubber tyres on :D

jason102276 01-21-2003 02:47 PM

cinci sydrome is a scary thing i was there and it was awful how slow the mtx-2 looked on the straight getting blown away by everything else

i just want to be better prepared if it ever came time to run there again which i might do this summer if they have a good trophy race i am only a 8 hour drive away

i think i need more engine rpm also

sounds like we are going to have to add weight maybe ill save my money instead of buying titanium pivot balls

tekrsq 01-21-2003 03:04 PM

If I converted this right (used a conversion program, so blame that):

RS4-2- 1388 grams
MTX3- 1418 grams
MTX2- 1549 grams w/ transponder

All cars empty tanks w/ radio gear, & new tires. How can they be that far under weight???

Francis M. 01-21-2003 03:52 PM

try using another scale just to make
sure. I have a scale but it measures
in oz. 61.8 oz. compared to the nitro
tc3 wich weights 59.1 oz. both with
out body.
