Wet races
I read somewhere in the earlier posts where someone run wet races alot due to the weather..
I just ran in a wet race and my HPI v-groove did not really hold out that well in wet conditions. What you guys' recommandation for wet tyres?? plus what are the things that i got to look for to water proof the MTX-3? Also will i be able to order online thru the k-factory website? thanks for your feedback |

I just ran in a wet race and my HPI v-groove did not really hold out that well in wet conditions. Damp conditions: HPI 'Advan A038' rubber tyres on 24R compound (softest) with a soft-medium insert (¿HPI yellow?). Maybe you can find 'UMIDO' compound - Foam - from Enneti and use it (found it, tried it and switched it). Wet conditions: Pit Shimizu D20 on 22mm wide (you can stretch it to 24) but best results are on 22mm. Avoid 26mm like plague, don't work. Use them with the foam that comes or use a soft insert. 'AQUA' compound from MicroSystems - Foam - is available sometimes but twitchy to find. If track starts to dry switch quickly to HPI's! Pits self destroy almost to the speed of the light when are used on damp or dry conditions (and are expensive...). Preparing your radio gear for damp or wet conditions is tricky. Someone (¿Cartman?) posted days before their approach with a Reflex NT receiver box on their MTX3, search it and see the results (don't forget to apply WD40 to the receiver box and other 'waterproof' equipment you use). |
Pitz inters 0400 are the ones. do not over heat if very wet narrow pitz treadd wets
