If the kit you are going to buy does not have a bar-code sticker on the side of the box with a serial number, its an overseas kit.

I'm waiting on another one now from another hobby shop, this kit will be coming from HRP. I built the car with a lot of hop-ups that I had to fabricate, and I am still working on a few more. Just putting the finishing touches on the Titanium front sway bar blocks and 3mm shock towers. Stock is 2.5mm. I like the kit so far, its has a nice setup for the front roll center, fit and finish of everything exceeded my expectations! Built the car to almost a prospec, only if I had a 4mm chassis The rear sway bar, 2.1mm, I like the way that the adjustability of the rear lower hing pins, very cool idea, and also the steering ackerman too. Total time of build so far: 4 hours and only need to install servo's. I am however curious about the side belt, has anybody else noticed the looseness?

If you had used the 24T front side pulley for the side belt.. it is not a problem. I have ran the car and it is not a problem.

If that is for the MTX3 then it will not fit.. coz the 4's is shorter.

Supply over demand?

Anyway folks, finnally finished the car and written up the build over 4 short articles on 3Hobby if you are interested. There may be a thing or two you can learn before building yours.

This is going to be a hot car.

Buying local has its advantage, mine comes with a shock tower and top tray with holes that are in the wrong places... It was replaced within 2 days from the local importor.

As for the price between different brand of kits, you are not just buying a bag of screws/plastic parts with a chassis. Part of the kit cost is to pay for the R&D, tooling, molds...etc. They won't make money on the kit until they sold some numbers on them. In this case I think Mugen has made their bag of screw/plastic works better on the track. Therefore it is reasonable to put up a higher price tag. Is our choice as a consumer to buy it or not, no use to complain about it. Just don't buy one if you think is over price.

Lots of build tips in my 4 articles over at 3Hobby. They're not so much on "go-fast" tips, the car IS going to be fast! They are more tips on how to make it a little bit easier to build the car and build it right.

As for engine and manifold, get any decent engine and pipe ... like I said, the car is going to be fast. Just needs something else that all the money in the world can't buy off the shelf ... great driving skills.

Just wondering does the kit have standard dogbones or does it come with universals?

It comes with dogbones... The MTX3 front universals will fit on the front of the MTX4.
