Hey Doug, do you think we might see a cobra GT demo at the next state race? Another question if you don't mind sir, what pipe and header were used on Rinos $200 Nova Rossi N21 5?

Joaquin, will have a Cobra GT with him at the Arcadia FORGASS Race in April and Paolo will be racing another Cobra GT at the RC Pro Nationals in Porter, TX. I will have to check with Rino about his pipe and header combo or if he sees this post he may go ahead and let us know before I see him.

I watched Rino and Joaquin do some testing at Homestead when they first got the pre-production cars. I was expecting boredom but was happily surprised with the performance they were getting from their cars almost immediateley upon putting them on the track. Much easier to follow and so realistic watching them go around the track.

jneg 04-04-2012 05:05 PM

The photo I have has an EFRA 9901 pipe. With a "square" header.

MugenDrew 04-05-2012 10:00 AM

Thats cool. So there is a really good chance we will see it run;).
They looked good in the videos from the P.R. race, but there is nothing like seeing it for yourself.
Thanks jneg.

I just talked with Rino. He was using the Novarossi 2015 pipe with the long 41020 long curved manifold on the N21-5T. Paolo was using the Novarossi 9901 pipe with the 41020 long curved manifold on the 21 Flash Rally.

MugenDrew 04-05-2012 04:50 PM

That makes allot of sense. From or testing with the Ninja the square header was very peaky or had an explosive power band. Not something you would want while trying to be smooth and fluid...
Thanks for the info!

Well the FORGASS racers finally got to see not one but all three of the Serpent Cobras run Saturday at the Sour Grapes Race. We were all very impressed. Sunday was even better! Joaquin slapped on a set of "old worn out" Alpha tires and let anybody DRIVE his car that wanted to!!!
HELL YEAH!!! I drove it! You should have seen the smile on my face! It was a hoot! I'm still laughing about it! Good times! Not that I was being greedy our anything but i drove it again, end result...same big grin. Its very relaxing to drive, all the time in the world to think about what's going on in the corner and I was shocked at how fast it accelerated!
Two questions: Would I look good in an orange shirt? Does anybody want to buy a new in box dm 1?
P.S. worn out Alpha tyres are the shiznit, i can only dream of how stuck like chuck they are when there new. Than again maybe its the race geometry of the Cobra that made it all click?

VentureXero 05-07-2012 06:12 PM

its so cool to see serpent getting in to all these sub category chassis!

Cobra GT kits should start to ship out to customers on Wednesday. Most parts are already in stock.

RCmayor 05-28-2012 08:30 PM

Cool, thinking about turning my old 811B into a dirt oval late model. :-) I'm thinking the front and rear mounts and shorter rear shocks is all that will be needed. I don't need the 2 speed stuff.

I will use the Ipanema Warrior I have had great success with it plus it is very affordable. There is another body that I'm very interested in called the GT325 that looks extremely nice.

I will by available for tech information here, Please don't pm me because i always forgot to go check my pm's:(

I am waiting for Serpent to upload the editable setup sheet so i can post the setups i have ran so far. The link for the GT setup ares is:

The default setup is very close at what i have being using. Please remember that all my test have being made with Alpha tires and Alpha R3 body.

Good to hear. Don't overfill the diffs. Just put enough until you almost cover the cross.
