Ok Dan well I will be waiting on that Gt been wanting one since 2014 but like I said when ok saw the release date of the Gt I was like there has to be a new one coming out so I been waiting. But like you saiid heard the same thing how great the car was an they don't see a new one coming out at that time bc of how well the car performs. So I Just wanted. to. Be up to date when I invested in the Gt platform but thanks.

As I've seen the changes are:
SLi8 Gearbox from 977evo
Front and rear centre driveshafts changed to dogbones (no longer CVDs)
Front and Rear new shock towers
Front lower arm pin alu suspension mounts new
6 degree alu C hub as standard (standard plastic steering blocks)
New alu gearbox centre holders (standard fibreglass brake disks)
Front and Rear lower shock mount extensions (shocks mounted more outside)

There might be more but thats what I can see now. All the plastics, diffs, axles, driveshafts etc remain the same as the current version.
Oh I'm due for a new ride ... I'm gonna pass mine down to a youngster starting out!

The King Cobra edition (that's just what I call it) with all the upgrades and options will be made "hopefully" but a date is not set yet.

But there's no reason to wait fellas upgrade your current Cobra platform and enjoy the benefits of the newparts now. They truly work and give you a wide range of setup options for your personal driving style.

Serpent quality and support is First Class!

I have the RTR version and have been dying to upgrade.
I live less than 45 minutes away from Desoto racing and I'll be the first at their door once it's released.

I would like to personally congradulate and welcome Jesus Luna aka Tonylunatic a world class GT driver and guy to the Serpent Team. He raced at the GT worlds and most recent the Pan Am GT race at Homestead Miami. A very nice addition to the Serpent team and family.

I think we will also see certain current required upgrades standard in the kit including the 0 degree caster blocks and centre diff brackets in Alu. I don't think you'll see pro brakes as standard though. Think what they did with the cobra buggy that ended up having the Alu 14 degree caster blocks as standard etc...
HI Dan, I think that the reason why the 2 speed can jump from 2 to 1 is because the set screws in the center are either not there, not set properly or simply backing out... There is nothing wrong with the SL8 gearbox, I mean not that I know of.
The new pitch gears and smaller 2 speed give better acceleration I heard. I haven't tried them so I don't know.

The SL8 gearbox is fine - most of the time. The issue is in very high load conditions like a flat out sweeper which loads the car so much that it begins to slow down then the gearbox can (and does) drop 2nd gear loosing more corner speed and unstabilising the car. The 977 viper and the 747/748 cars did exactly the same thing before the low inertia gearboxes came out and I run both of those cars with the SL8/SL6 gearboxes and then with the Li boxes and so have the experience. Trust me the issue is there

It's is the GT 3.0 the current car is already 2.0! It will be out within a couple weeks. The parts to upgrade an existing car are already available at Serpent America.

I think the 3.0 comes with new shock towers, new shocks mount and new ackerman set. The rest may maintain in 2.0

The new shock tower and mount are good, I can use softer spring for more grip.
