RDLogics Mongoose

Hmm, i just received my new steering system for my G4, it looks awsome and steers smoothly but what's up with it hitting the belt badly? Probably something i haven'nt read yet
Some dremeling stopped the touching though, now i only need the new clutch parts.
*edit* Just read the posts just atop these and it seems like i have the new one (silver nut).. A ltlle grinding took away the problem eitherway...

Servos?
Have you talked already about servos for the g4? Haven't read all.... anyways I would like to get recommendations on which servos to use on this kit.

Servo's
I think just about any servo's work fine.
I know of people using all sorts of digital servos for the steering. I personally run a HiTech digi. I have seen KO, JR and Futaba servo's used as well. There are mounting spacers provided so I think with a little imagination anything goes.
With my HiTech, I had to mount the servo forward and put the ball for the tie rod facing the rear of the car so it was perpendicular.

Futaba 9550's is by far the best for the G4/Mongoose, the smaller size makes the cable routing much much easier.

20 Tooth gearing pully
I have purchased the 20 tooth brake/side pully's to get better top speed but the rear belt is much too tight (Kfactory low friction & standard one). The rear does not spin freely at all. Have any of you guys tried to 20 t pully system yet and what belt do you use.
I gave it 5 mins round the track today hoping it would quickly loosen up but it didnt. It is that bad it felt like i was driving with drag brake.
Dont really want to have to spend more on S gearing set as this should be OK and can use the S 18t pinion with this to lower 1st .

I already using 20T and got no problem. Yes, the rear belt is rather tight but i'm not having any drag brake problem. And you can try just use the original nylon belt which will loosen a bit after a couple runs.

Try to soak the belt in some kind of cleaner overnight, that should soften it up (give a little more slack) a bit

Here's what I've done to make the servos fit nicely
For the throttle servo:
Put a spacer on the left side (next to the receiver pack)
For the steering servo:
Put a spacer on the right side(mounted on the middle of upperdeck)
this will give you space where the throttle servo (where the servo wiring comes out) butts up against the steering servo
Just about any servo should work

Steve and Earl are supposed to be going as well. Randy is out of nitro for now. He is having fun getting abused running electric sedan right now.
