I got to try my car with the RS2 updates on it, minus the rear upper camber link, this past weekend. I first assembled the new parts to be as close to the old parts were with the exception of the shock geometry and the king pin angle. With the supplied shims, you can go from what Motonica calls the +1.2 angle to 0 angle. With 3 more shims on either upright, you can go to -1.2, which is where we were with the old uprights flipped left to right.
So I ran the 0 angle, the front shocks mounted in the outer position on the arm, lowest hole on the tower, and the ackerman in the middle setting both laterally and longitudinally, with about 3mm spacers below the steering ball stud (all just about where they were on the old uprights). I ran the car and took some lap times. Just for kicks, I put the RS shock tower back on, readjusted the ride height and took some lap times again. The lap times were virtually identical. I put the RS2 tower back on and tried the ackerman in the most aggressive setting- arm out and steering link all the way back on the arm. Took some lap times again, and again, they were virtually identical, maybe 1/10th faster on my fastest lap. Feel-wise, the front end felt like it gripped better as it entered and went into the corners. Overall, the car felt very similar to the RS, but as soon as I get more of the shims, I am going to try the -1.2 angle, as I think this combined with the ackmerman and shock angles should yield in slightly faster lap times.
As for the club race, I TQ'ed and won, so the first US win for the RS2 is done.

We had our Motonica GP this past weekend. Chris Verano qualified 7th in the A Final expert. I did poorly in 1/8th, qualifying 13th. Ralph Ayala qualified 1st in the sporstman, with his VMR tires equipped RS2. I also ran 200mm sedan using the VOX .12 motor in a borrowed Kyosho V1RRR, and I qualified 3rd.
The A and B finals got rained out so Chris took 7th in the expert class and Ralph took the sportsman win, only the second time racing his RS2.

Hello guys, can someone with motonica cars measure the total length and thickness of motonica pivot balls ? In millimeter.
Thanks a lot......
I want to compare it with mugen seiki pivot balls, i want wider track width.
