Cool

....And, last but not least, my *dream FW03* build. This is my favorite SuperTen build I've done, and the car I am most proud of. I wished I could post more pics than one!

(If anyone wants to see more pics or has any questions, email me @ [email protected])

Later guys, j

Nice car, man! I'd LOVE to see the catalog you have with the 2st vs. 4st Superten; you said it's the 2002 Kyosho catalog, correct??

gamma
Hi gamma!
Thanks I did - cool.
Actually the catalog has only the 2-strokes but the R/C car mag issue has the "battle". They promised a continuation but unfortunately that never came out.
Juan hpi rims only fit FW-03, not the FW-04. Otherwise ok, thanks!
Will check out other posts later.. great have some action back around these cars!
edit: Nitro Dave good to hear from you, too, and Gamma - awesome collection! Enjoyed seeing those!
Keep it coming, hope to fire up mine soon

A part from tires and rims, also looking for a new bumper (black) and rear exhaust pipe for the left side (looking from front).

Have engine mounts and an original gold head Team Orion Kyosho CRF .12 motor waiting on my shelf..

edit: I got a new black bumper from ebay germany at reasonable price

Wow, all the old school guys are back.

I still have my FW04, haven't fired it up in about a year or so. Actually have a few more FW04's added since then. Luckily about 2 years ago, picked up a bunch of FW04 wheels and box of brand new HPI C10-30 Super tires. I'll be set for a while!

Hi Dan, cool!

It's funny how many enthusiasts actually own supertens. It's no wonder however since it's a great platform and design and has this versatility for running different engines (2 and 4 strokes). Size is also good between tourers ang gt's.
Too bad K dropped this over 10 years ago.

I have always like the super-sized 10th scales. From an earlier post, I have the HPI and Tamiya versions as well as my FW04 4-stroke. Look like I will have to take time to find rims for mine. If the HPI super tires fit the FW04 rims, I am at least set there because I collected as many as I could get my hands on when HPI discontinued their car. Ride also makes tires for Super rims (one of my LHS use to carry them; might be in their bargain parts bin).

That's good Juan. I believe hpi rims are same width as FW04 front, but FW04 rears are wider. Cheers

Rebuild and cleaned the stock gs15r motor today. It was in a good condition inside, all shiny and no burnt oil. Conrod and piston fine, compression ok. Header was a bit burnt but I got it cleaned, too.

2-speed ok, but will change gears and the clutchbell because it was in 2 pieces. Would work, but will change to 13/17 on the bell and 39/43 on spur gears at the same time, 2 teeth taller than stock on the 2nd, right.

Next, will clean the diffs and bulkheads and put some heavy oil (50K) to the front diff. Also clean shocks and change oils there. Change the bumper for a new.

Body needs also to be worked on a bit.

I'm still looking for a rear tuned pipe for the Orion/Kyosho motor.

Super-Nice FW03, JLock... Beautiful car!
-There is nothing like the torque of the FS-26S-C with the handling of the SuperTen chassis.

Thanks for sharing! -j

...your chassis is an *FW03* by the way. They are easy to get mixed up.

I personally think the FW03 is more of a "racing" chassis layout, however the FW04 has a bit more adjustment capabilities. Both are great handling cars.

Mika; your 4-Stroke Spada is a work of art, dude. -Do you still have it? I think I read you may have sold it. Either way, it's an incredible conversion you did.

Later guys, j

Thanks Jon! yeah I sold it, it was pretty cool. It had the custom head made in U.S.A for improved flow.
