all that matters is that everyone had fun, I was following DJ after just getting the car and setting it up, I know he's was happy and had lots of fun.

I don't blame Paolo for protesting. And no, I'm not saying it should have been ruled in his favor but it was definitely worth a shot. He didn't protest because he was mad about racing in the rain, he protested because the rules clearly state that if the semis are run in the rain, top three bump from each instead of top 2 plus two fastest. That means if his protest is upheld, he makes the show. I would have protested too, it's worth a shot even if it is unlikely.

Too bad Paolo didn't get in and Paul didn't race. Would've made the show more interesting from our perspective.

Now that racing in the rain has be brought up, can someone explain how they do it overseas without completely trashing their cars? Just curious cuz i've heard of it before.

I ran a nitro tc race in a light rain once. It wasn't too bad, just wouldn't turn worth a darn but was quite controllable if you were careful.

well we do race in the rain at our events, we use special made tires, that is of a soft shore coated with a lay of rubber , with two centered grove, Rb speedline,ATS,has them they go for around 90 to 100 a set

I didn't know that. So why wasn't his protest considered?

I don't know, I wasn't in the meeting or there to see how bad the rain was but from all the reports, the rain wasn't bad and didn't slow down the track (Fukada was quicker than the winner of the other semi) so I would guess that they decided the rain was a non-factor.

Oh it was sliding just a few drops and you could have seen the hesitation from some of the drivers in the turns, they where still trying to keep up their pace but to my opinion the race director did the right thing to stop the race.

We are talking about the semis, not the main. If the semi had been stopped for rain, Paolo would have been in.
