I taught old Sow about the english trick of "I'm just off to the chip shop" not so sure it would work for you, though D - especially if you're lugging all your RC gear with you
If there is a father in-law, surely you could make an excuse about wanting to show him the track, etc. I'm sure he'd be more than willing to escape too

JustRace, sorry ... missed your question earlier.

Go to 3hobby.com, click on "Topics" and then scroll down to "Serpent Cars". You'll see a list of articles on what I've written so far including the mod. :D

I saw it on 3hobby web site.

You saw the mod article on 3hobby.com already? That's how I did it ...

Someone suggested trying 2mm instead of 1mm ... I'd recommend NOT going to 2mm yet until you're comfortable and can handle the car with 1mm. Its well worth doing this mod.

Cool. I know a racing buddy of mine is using that on the 705 and is almost consistantly getting into the top mains in most races. Well, that goes to show a lot that it's not the car... It's the driver most of the time.:(
Yeap ... agree with you there. I did the mod on my 705 too but there is another mod ... :sneaky:

Oh where you are you'll need to say "see y'all in a bit luv ... need to go get a faster pair of glasses"

BTW, ol' Chye started knocking on A-main doors when he changed his glasses. No joke! ;)

I missed out on 2 races to date...another one is coming up this National Day @ the new Klang Circuit...hop over to the Malaysian Forum and you'll get to see some pix...it's managed by Azri. Tried it out last weekend and found it OK...it lacks character but fun nonetheless. It's EP haven.

Other than that...just waiting for the final round of RCAC race which will be at S2....

OK will hop over and see. EP haven ... yeap, sounds like a track without a character then. :D

Hi Guys,

Just need some assistance.. I was wondering what lube can you substitute for the Serpent One-way lube? Do you guys really use Graphite grease, any substitute? I'm about to build my car soon.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks,

Titan

Graphite grease that we refer to is the dry powdered type. Usually used on hinge pins and dogbones where you do not want to attract dust. Surely not suitable for oneway bearings !

I don't know if you could use very light bearing oil on the oneway bearings as I have not tried it yet. The oil needs to be very thin and a drop of it will do. Some people have luck just leaving them dry ! But my thinking is why would there be a lube specially for oneway bearings then if you can run it dry? Furthermore, it's a bearing anyways and bearings always require some kind of lubing.

Anyways, try and get the Serpent oneway lube. It'll last you many years with one bottle. I'm still using the same bottle after 2 years.
