I'm Finished Too
Hey guys just finished building my 710, what a great car. The Last car i built was the Impulse, what a big difference.
I'm still whating on my power plant (Nova). Hopefully, i will be racing next week. I would like to think Serpent to building a great car and thank you guys on the thread for helping. This car was one of the smoothest cars i build, can't wait to test it at the track |
VIP CARD
Hey guys,
I want in to the VIP on TSN. Where is the card or is that not an option when you buy the 710. |
Re: Built update
Originally posted by Blue Sky As of last night, just the Centax/engine/linkage installation then the car will be completed. Originally posted by Blue Sky I'm new to Centax. Any additional tip on assembly on top of what Mark and the "black book" already mentioned? I read a lot toasted thrusted bearing and don't want that to happen. 2. Shim the end play as per step 8.7 on page 28 of the manual. Allow very little end play. 3. Grease the thrust bearing. I use Mugen Super Grease and they last even after a few weekends. Very sticky stuff. All the steps above if followed religously, you won't have to buy any thrust bearings from your LHS anymore. ;) Originally posted by Blue Sky One thing I think Serpent can improve on this kit is the use of fasteners that use ONE drive tool. There is 2mm hex, 2.5mm hex, and 2 sizes of Philips. |

Re: Roll Center
Originally posted by GlennCauley Hi Pyramid, There would be no detectable weight difference when you change the location of the rear lower arm. http://home.tiscali.be/be067749/58/c2/rcchange.gif http://home.tiscali.be/be067749/58/ In terms of car handling, this means that the end where the link is angled down the most (highest RC) has the most grip initially, when turning in, or exiting the corner, and that the end with the lowest RC when the chassis is rolled will have the most grip in the middle of the corner. So if you need a little more steering in the middle of the corners, lengthen the front upper link a little. (Be sure to adjust camber afterwards) If you'd like more aggressive turn-in, and more low-speed steering, either set the rear upper link at less of an angle, or increase the front link's angle a little. |
