Talking Shopping list

Hi Guys,

Which RX unit would give the least problems in terms of fitting for the 710?

Any parts recommended which are useful in building the 710, i.e. greese, oils, items which didn't come with the kit? Not tool, though, should have plenty of those

Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark

I have just finished building the new kit and I use a Futaba HRS reciever and had no problems fitting it into the 710 box

Be careful ! I believe Mark uses some analog servos. The HRS mode will burn the servos.

In any case, you need the 3PK to be able to use a HRS receiver.

Still, I agree that the HRS receiver is pretty small.

Yes just the usual, oneway greese, axel greese, diff silicon lube,
and threadlock from memory, at the front of the manual it tells you what lubes you will need to build the kit

Sorry didn't realise you were buying a RX only and as usual ID is correct. Mark you will need two digital servos to run this receiver

Mark, given that you use the 3PJS radio, you should get the R113ip Futaba PCM receiver as per the original. I have used this same receiver on the 710 before with the 3PK and it fits well too although it's slightly bigger than the 3PK HRS receiver.

This is true, I'll be using the Sanwa VR servos.

Chees, Mark.

Of course! I have TWO cars remember?

The LHS here should also stop holding back ... I mean, they know everyone is breaking them, especially those who play at Atria.

Oh? Crashed ... you were there spying?

Yes, it was us three. My set-up was stock but Riad's had red springs like Uncle Yap. Definitely the springs to use as they were both a lot smoother through the looooong sweeper/straight. Uncle Yap also used 16-21 pinions which he told me to do but I left mine at home (at which point he told me not to race if I was going to leave things behind!)

Riad and I was head-to head, unbelievably enjoyable. We didn't need to push, just drive. If you were there you would have seen the "show", the only reason I overtook him was because he made a small mistake after the triangle ... otherwise he would have stayed in front of me. I think we could have easily done better if we pushed abit but we both messed up the first heat so this was our last chance.

Ah well, that heat alone was more than enough fun for me the whole day. I honestly didn't mind the rain as it was really warm and humid yesterday.

Mark Green told me once that with this car, everyone can be equal and this heat proved it.

The thing is if you go to places like Thailand to race, the tables are turned as everybody there has a 710 !
