Talking about springs, the one that comes with the 705 are Veteq springs. Slightly longer rear springs and softer. Rene Cornella mentioned that Veteq red springs are about equal to white Impulse springs while the blue Veteq springs are equal to yellow Impulse springs !

So the yellow rear springs that came with the 705 are as soft as the orange Impulse springs.

With the Veteq springs, you need not use the progressive pre-tension spring setup.

True, but I never used the original 705 sprints. I went out and got all kinds of srpings from Serpent that I've lost touch as to which is which!

I assume you're using a micro receiver (eg. those from the 3PK, M8)?

I've seen various solutions. Mine, the Futaba 311 will only fit if I either fit it in with the xtal facing the tank or I cut a slot for the xtal if I want it to face outwards.

I chose the 2nd option in case I need to change xtals during a race.

No doubt, the box Serpent make is too shallow and the fit with the wires will be tight.

There was a long discussion early on in this thread, you'll just have to look for it.

Here is a pic that Rene Cornella posted on how he mounted his Sanwa receiver.

You can still mount your receiver with the crystal facing towards the tank and be able to access your crystal albeit more difficult.

Just mount the receiver as per the picture posted and you should be able to fit the receiver in the box.

710 Rims

What rims/tires work with the 710? I have a bunch of Fast Tires from my MTX3 and while the rims go on there is not enough thread showing so I reverse the locknut so I get alittle grab. Are the kit Ell's the only tires to work on the Serpent 710?

Ummm, Ok. I think Thaasman had the same problem mounting his receiver. Julius gave him a suggestion which seemed to work well (I think). Julius posted a pic of how the receiver box should be cut to fit the wires and crystal.
