ride hight of 6mm is fully wound down collars but i need around 9 to 10 mm
because of huge tyre wear in long final.
so do the rear spring up front sound right.

I guess using rear springs would work. The car must not handle very well at the beginning of the race.

A little question regarding servos...
 

Hi everyone!

Long time, no see :) I've been in hibernation all the crappy Swedish winter, but as the season-starting month of April is coming closer I'm starting to wake up, and thus starting to have questions ;)

I think I can afford to replace my JR std-servo on throttle with someting a little better, but with what I'm not sure of.

I have a KO PS-2173 FET servo on steering (0.09 / 8 Kg) which I love, but I could degrade it to throttle if anyone has a servo better suited for steering in the 80 USD-class.

Any inputs will be appriceated :)

I have to run that sort of ride height because of the surface has no grip and so rough the tyres have to be reasonably soft to get any grip.
During the final you get 6 to 7mm of tyre wear so thats where the ride height comes in.So how do you guys get the ride height with 58mm tyres ?
The guys are having the same trouble at the pre worlds with the new front shocks.Has anyone got any answers and do you think the rear spring on the front will be ok i guess will just have to try.
What do you guys think? :)

I have to say I agree.

I think Serpent designed the front springs either :-

1- to fit the most common but reasonable ride height or
2- to limit you from converting your 710 into an off-road monster truck.

True.

NOOB-SMOKE, use harder shores in a long final, set your car accordingly to compensate for lost traction from the harder shores and don't use more than 8mm ride height - even that is too much already.

If you still can't make it work then it is far better to change tyres mid race by using the best shores for grip than to set-up your car up all wonky and possibly having to use non-optimal shores.

Worth mentioning is DJ Apolaro, who won the b-main and went on to claim 7th in the big show.

Seems the 710 is still the car to beat!

I ran my off road ride height 9mm on the weekend.
At the end of the 30min A final ride height was 4.5 with tyres on the rim
passing the leader on last lap last corner and taking the win by half a car length what a great final! Another win for serpent

Well done man. Next time you're out try the ride height at 3mm with the worn tires and see if it's still drivable. You could start with a 7.5mm height at your next final and pick up some extra speed at the beginning!
