Hey Vader, have you got that "lightsabre" of yours constructed yet?

Yup.
Tried to setup the car yesterday. No setup board, so had to improvise. Used A3 size graph paper in a clear holder on glass table top. Got a camber gauge though...

Now I know why those Ellegi wheels have slots in them. Trying to adjust wheel setting with the dish wheels that I have is a real hassle. I must have taken the wheels out and put them back at least 25times in total last night... real hair pulling experience...

One thing I discovered. When I set the width to exactly 200mm, the dogbones fall out at full steering...
Normal...?

Are you using oneway front or front diff? With a front diff, you need to make the front trackwidth narrower like 198 mm... If not, the dogbones can pop out.

Depends on how much steering throw but it should not make the dogbones come out at full steering... Are you sure you're having the right dogbones? FYI, the front and rear dogbones are the same size and length.

Are you sure you use 200mm? what dogbone you use. if you use the spring steel one from 835, always better to nerrow the width down abit cuz those sprig steel one is a little shorter

you still can get 200mm width without the bones popping out, just use 1mm shim on both wheel hexes and set the track width to 198. also for an insurance that the wheel won't run loose get kawahara wheel nuts...those things are the bomb that they perfectly lock themselves to the rim.

Yes it's true. The 835 dogbones are 1 mm shorter if I'm not wrong. But then, I don't think you can find the spring steel 835 dogbones anymore. They are a rare commodity item.

Thanks for you input guys.

Yes, I 'm running the front diffs.
And no, I don't know which dogbones or even if they're the right ones. Bought the car 2nd hand...

I'll try to narrow the front end a bit to about 198mm and see how it goes. That means another 10times removing and fitting the front wheels...

May try the shims too. The Speedmind wheels I'm using are very close to touching the steering rod ends.

Plan to run in engine tonight...
Read the WOT run in methods in the FAQ. Will try them...

Cheers guys.

Ok, the other thing I forgot to ask is how are you measuring the front trackwidth? WITH or WITHOUT the wheels? Where are you measuring it from?

It should be measured with wheels and measured from the outer part of the left tire to the outer part of the right tire.

Looks at 710 - sees 835 spring-steel dogbones
