I wouldn't recommend it tho...   it might make your red look dull even after the white backing.:(

Solid Front Axle set up

Anyone tried a solid axle and what was your opinion if you did. Or has anyone tried the front diff all the way locked. What did you like better of the two -----solid or the diff?????

I'm using a locked one-way at the moment. I've lost a little bit of steering but not that much ... just change the set-up to suit.

If you go to 3Hobby, there are videos of AMCC, shows the track that I'm using this set-up at the moment. I've always driven there with a 1-way for fun but as you will see, its not the ideal track for 1-ways.

I had a few problem with the locked diff were i went through 3 outdrives in one meeting!

Ah ! Then you're really knocking or scrubbing the side walls / side planks or side kebs or the track while on throttle ! I had that once happen to me.

Fabio Domanin while in the Thailand race "modified" the front ball diff and locked it to a solid axle. I asked why and he said it was more durable in a longer main. Particularly to cure the same problem you have. Not that the stocl one was unreliable bu in a long main and if there was a crash, it would be all over. He added that if it was a short main or a heat, he would not have minded using the stock one.
