Well, I think if you stick with Serpent, you should be able to do that just fine. All the factory drivers were willing to help or answer any question you have about the car.

My RRL5 engine got "mollested" by MS while Uncle Crash's 710 got "mollested" by him as well...

I started at 5.5mm rear / 5 front and the car acted very funny for the first 10 mins. but got better and better. My best lap was before my last pitstop ( ) but what the heck.
Always next time.

I think we should all post and compare our setups here just to see what was done and to see how much difference from one car to another... Will get back and check the setup and post it here probably tonight.

On another note, I'll send you an email in a while... :sneaky: :D

Is it just me, or the front body hole is way oversized???

daniz24 01-18-2005 02:58 AM

And the rear side windows too... New rules??

InitialD 01-18-2005 05:12 AM

Which one are you referring to? The bodyshells on the lineup?

Yeah, they were huge. But as far as we're concern, we follow the rules. Even to the trackwidth and rear wing height.

I hear that some even run as wide as 205 mm in order to get rid of traction roll and have humungous rear wings ! Talk about outlaw...

*Ahem*, Pyramid, my home track is only 40 minutes from Heathrow. :sneaky:

We're also a visiting-racer-friendly.

As far as I know, everybody had traction roll problem. Even in the B main, kitracer traction rolled twice. I was on solid and was having a little bit of traction rolling problems earlier. Not as much as Uncle Crash though... But Uncle Crash sought the EMPEROR's help and managed to get rid of his traction rolling problems !

I went with harder front tires. But later on I found out that it could be the tire diameter that I was using was not correct and probably made for the slower corner entry / exit. Changed it back to 37 front and rear with 59 mm rear and 58 mm front tires during the main and it was on rails.

What do you mean by "not correct"? What were you using before changing over?

Oh I see ... OK, go over and look at AMCCs only in the calendar. you're most likely flying into Heathrow, AMCC is only 40 mins south of that airport and then when you've had fun you can go over the Chesire.

It's weird actually... Available traction kind fluctuate in the duration of the whole weekend. When traction was high during practice before the rain, I thought 37 front and rear was a little twitchy for me to drive. So I had 40 fronts and 37 rears which drove OK and even had 42 front and 40 rears at some point.

In the end, it was a gamble as I took the risk of using 37 all around without having to test what tires were good for that Sunday morning. I told my venerable wingman <cough, cough> to prepare for front tire change to 40 front in that 3 minute given warm up time in the event the 37 fronts did not work out. But all came out well and good.
