Guys, I went to the LHS to get the complete servo linkage setup. My LHS happened to have 2 kits that was canibalised for parts.

I found that in those 710 kits, the steering linkage and servo saver parts had 2 springs. Silver one is 10.6 mm in length and 1.4 mm thick wires while the black one is 9.6 mm in length and 1.3 mm in length and with lesser coils ! It seems that the black one is softer !

Question is do you guys noticed this when you built your kit or have this black spring at all packaged in your kit? Especially those who said they already built their second 710 kit?

Is this black spring an optional one or is it used somewhere else? I thought mine only came with only one silver spring. Thanks.

Interesting D

May explain why sparksy and my steering link is hitting, but I doubt it. looks a lot similar to the centax spring, I aggree will sow.
Hopefully Julius can explain :D

Excuses!!! This is hard fact evidence  I'm sure my bearing weren't so free, either - knock another couple of seconds off for the extra resistance there :D See, Sow, without these problems I would have been four seconds a lap quicker!

Oh dear. I can't even make it across the English Channel by boat comfortably so forget sailing all the way Down Under. I'll be 90 by the time I get there! :(

Fix the starship Picard!

Yup it looks a lot like the Centax spring but then again, our stock kit Centax spring diameter is 1.7 mm while the Centax II optional spring is 1.8 mm. Not 1.4 or 1.3 mm respectively that I've measured. Centax spring in the kit is gold in colour and this is silver !

Hopefully somebody can explain.

If you want to get pedantic about it, you have to measure the air density to ensure you know how fast sound travels - which depends upon the desity of the medium
