Hi,
Cool ! I notice the 9606 vented disc is thicker than the 801345 and also with a slightly bigger diameter. I have tested them but like I said before, with the weather conditions here, and the race-brakepabs, you don't get the heat in those pads. Tempratures around 30/34 degrees C should be no problem with the 9606. Do you use the race-brake pads (#9607)? I really recommend those. They give a good consistant braking, so that change of brake setup during the race won't happen again. Thomas |

Its Novarossi TSR12S5S modified by Jim Hottinger. Max There is a wide choice of servos you could get. Some of the best are the Futaba 9550 they are small and light and provide more than enough torque for the 710. Fuel is a different question, but use the fuel which you are going to be racing with. Important is, though: what % Nitro do the guys run at your track. Here in Europe there is a limit of 16%, but you may not have this. There are a good many fuel manufacturers who make good fuel, Tornado and Runner Time are just two of these. Cheers, Mark. |
Nice ride!
Hi sn4il,
You got a very nice ride! Im getting servos today. I have Magnum 3PK. Which servos should i get?? So in your case I would get Futaba servo's. If you had a Ko I would get Ko servo's. I have no experience with the Futaba servo's but I do know that quality is among the best. If you use Ko Propo, Sanwa/ Airtronics or Futaba you can't go wrong. Bye Thomas. |
Originally posted by InitialD Onkel Sow, it looks like your clutch is slipping excessively. I once set my clutch that way and after one session of playing an hour or so, I could see that the clutch shoes wear a lot. When I set it correctly, my clutch shoes still remain the same (no excessive wear) except some glazing on the shoe surface. Perhaps you like it that way because of the driving style but I guess that's the downside. Some people let it engage aggressively and like them that way. Maybe harder to drive even. If you set it to engage correct, you will not have the clutch wear out. As for dimensions, it is usually 0.5mm gap with maybe 0.1mm end play. The spring maybe set to between 0.5-1mm from the end of the retaining nut. Feels good, quick and I'd be surprised if its slipping. The driving style ... well, I'm an analogue racer so yes, there are times I'm only applying half throttle.   In the end though I can't accept that clutch shoes do not wear. This system is friction based so .... :D |

Originally posted by Sow&Steady Well, its difficult to describe how I like to set my clutch. Maybe when Mark is here he can see how I set it. |

Originally posted by markp27 Good idea, Sow - we can compare how we've built the clutches  |
Originally posted by Sow&Steady Yes, he can buy them where he is (cheaper) and then bring them with him all ready painted! |
