Bolted the East roll bar on tonight.

I recon it's got slop in it already and it hasn't even been used yet.

Oh dear ... doesn't sound good.

I never liked the blade type for the rear anyway.

are the shiney carbon fiber peices (ssg?) parts just for beauty?

how do they compare to the regular parts? do they break as easily?

are they thicker? if they are thicker do you have to mod the shock towers to make them fit?

from what i can see, there are less shock mounting positions in the towers, has this hampered anyones tuning preferences?

thanks.

They are just as strong in my opinion. Am using the rear and front shock towers ... haven't checked but they looked about 0.5mm thicker.

I've not had issues with tuning limitations due to the lack number of holes ... yet.

Sent you PM a few days ago. Did you get it?

thanks and i have replied. (two times).

i am placing an order and just wondering if i should try the ssg parts...if they are significantly better i will.

are there any known benefits to the metal shock bodies? and what other key hop ups are suggested. the car already runs excellently, but i figured i would just ask since i am putting the order in.

Yes, but they sit rather hight.. grind the base 0.8mm to be perfect

At its softest setting, is it softer than the stock bar?
How does it feel on the track?
Softest setting is equal to 3mm serpent optional bar with no noticable differences in performance. It just looks better.

mostly yes

I assume you are talking about the rear tower. They sit lower becuase of less holes so it will hold up a bit better

Thicker compared to the standard reat tower but thinner compared to the serpent option one.

Sure, it limits tuning preferences. Anyhow, SSG parts are one of few items that are worth buying from 3racing products.

The only reason I got the SSG parts were for bling, bling. They look good but now I have a spare set of shocktowers!

I find the Al. shock bodies to be smoother but then again this is just a matter of preparing the pistons. If you take the time to slice off all the bits sticking out then you'll achieve the same smoothness. A lot of people still prefer the stock shock bodies. They don't expand with heat hence you won't have a leak. They're also lighter.

Key hops-ups? For performance I'd recommend the following:-

- a set of Ti screws for the whole car,
- Ti front and main layshafts,
- the orange clutch shoes,
- the lightweight pinion bell housing,
- the Pro brake pads,
- ventilated brake disk,
- lightweight pulley adapters,
- maybe the new Al. front roll-bar levers,
- ceramic diff balls,
- change all the steering ball joints to proper 5.8 mm ones,
- ceramic bearings for the whole car (except the few that you can't get anyway),
- change the wheel axles to the pro ones from the 705,
- modify the tank fuel exit to fo to the rear of the cap,
- modify for a shorter wheel base,
- use servos rated to less than 0.1sec,
- change to the fastest engine you can,
- tune the above in conjuction with a good pipe,

Then practise like mad (unlike me) because the car will be quicker than you can blink!

I'll be "investigating" these when I have the time :sneaky" :-

- change the dogbones to the pro ones from the 835,
- drivebelts from the G4
- solid rear axle

OK, now you'll have to go break the bank.

Err, didn't know he makes them but I've got one already. I'll post a picture later when I get home.
