hi guys....

Saw this on starting grid.....thought you'd be interested...

They were talking about racing in Edison NJ..which 1/8th scale is fastest..and this came up....

The last part of it is the part I thought you'd like...

This is not true at all it's just something I saw on mytsn.com It's kinda funny but in other ways its not.

Serpent is designing the new SERPENT 995-R 1/8 4WD During the interview last wednesday 25th August with Michael Salven ( engineering chief at Serpent Ltd. ), he told us that the new MRX4 1/8 from Mugen on the market, has triggered us to develop a new model for 1/8 category, the new 995-R 1/8 4wd. 'Michael Salven' - '' Our car, the 950-R, actually is very poor respect the new Mrx4, at the past Dutch Championship , our drivers finished 2 seconds down the new Mrx4 and that's too much time . If we want to be at the same level for next world championship, we had two options , to improve the 'old' 950-R or to design and develop a new one. We think at the end of september we could have it already finished on C.A.D. and we could begin to test the first unit at middle of October. Next monday two engineers from Xray will arrive Serpent factory to help us to design a new suspensions. Armand Van Tal , the second engineer at Serpent has left of the side the development of the 1/10 720 Touring to work 24 hrs. per day with the new design of the 995-R. -- We want to be the Number 1 , gain ''.

This is Brandon's car, I beleive he was using the one way.

Hi Tom,

I see Brain has cut his wheel width down - this is a fix for traction rolling?

Do you know if the guys were using the shortened front wheel base mod?

Hey no problem Harry, I was just commenting on the original posters motives in posting the article.
I think we're all pretty much the same when it comes to new stuff coming out :nod: love to see new shiny bits :D

April's is to late in NJ.....Got to have those cars built by then....

There was so much traction on this track that everyone no matter what car you drove was having problems with traction rolling. So to get the steering without traction rolling they cut the rubber on the inside and superglued the edges. Brian got around this by using the front way lock option. He shoved two pins in there and taped them shut, so that why I offered to lend him my parts that don't protrude from the one way. He didn't cut his tires like Brandon.

You can also see the tuning option on the lower arms to shorten the wheelbase. It is not in use as you can see the spacer behind the lower arm.
