Not without also getting new layshaft uprights - the SL-8 trans uses an 8mm layshaft and 8mm x 14mm bearings - the standard trans uses 6mm x 13mm bearings. Might still be worth investigating - I ran the SL-8 in a race for the first time yesterday and was very pleased with the consistency. Just a tip when you order it add some extra E-clips to your order , it seems to be a unique size to anything else on the car (and unique to what I had in my and everyone around me's toolbox) I've never been so careful with a damn E-clip in my life.

I doubt it. However, if you decide to go with the expense of upgrading your entire rear end to the 966 Evo then maybe yes. Not sure if that is possible with the 960 08 chassis plate, maybe someone else can comment on that.

I believe in order to use a SL8 gear box you must use the V2 rear end.

The SL8 Gear Box WILL NOT FIT the 960 08, the rear bulkhead of the 960 08 is still the one piece plastic that is a unitize 2 speed bearing block/rear bulkhead, totally different from the 966 rear end.

Problem is, that the 966 conversion is from 960-08 to 966 V1, so you then still need the V2 rear end.....

i dont believe that is the case. if you still have the V1 966, then you do not use the bearing inserts, the rest is still the same geometery.

The V1 uses 6x13mm bearings, if you can find 8x13mm bearings, then it would fit, because the V2 uses 8x14mm bearings.

Better off getting a 966 EVO kit, M7H is correct, even after upgrading it to a 966, you still end up with OS1, call me I'll hook you up!
