2 speed holders brace. But I think it will only work with a new chassis.
the chassis brace could be helpful against the "banana" while braking. But I dont know if this will have an effect to the performance. |
Its the chassis brace but it connects to the 2 speed shaft holders....check blissrc.com they have aftermarket housing...

It is unfortunate but we have decided to stop riding the MTX5.
We have applied all possible options / modifications but nothing has brought a solution for longer time. Approximately 25 2nd Spurs driven piece. Our patience has run out and the MTX5 goes on sale. We will now orientate on what we are going to drive next season. I say that the material of the spurs is too hard. The teeth break off like matchsticks. Unfortunately that Mugen gives no sign of live. It's a shame because it is a very fast car but unfortunately unreliable. |
i`d say try xray nt1. you won`t be disappointed.;)

Maybe somebody loves me
but till now (2 races) I have no problems (not counting my hands :-). I bought MTX5 used and quite cheap, with metal dif gears. It looks previous owner had some type of brace, but I use nothing. Only one more hole in chassis and in quite critical place left. I changed belts to rubber ones, used titanium screws and turnbucles and aluminium kingpins. 2x Savox 1251 and 1450 LiFe. Even with old NR is fast and with basic setup better than my older MTX4r. I use Ansmann starter box (to prevent banana chassis) and with little brakes it slows more than enough without bending chassis. Don't know if there are original or tunnig pads. During these 2 races (4x5 min quals and 30 min final each) and some training I damage only one 2nd spur - missing 3 tooths - and it happens mostly cause my poor driving and lot of crach and jumps.
Anyway chassis could be from better material and the also spurs - too hard and brittle. Pitty season here (europe) finish next week. |

I have been told by a reliable sorce there are new gears coming soon. Also Mugen are now shipping the new chassis and engine mount.
Just to let you know. Steve H Mugen has the entire season played hide and seek. Enough is enough. |
I know its not a easy pill to swallow....we all agree the car is fast.....if u brace the chassis your troubles go away..I have done it....I'm on my 4th gallon wit the same gears...for those who don't want to brace...use longer screws in the shaft holders...the problem is there!!!
