OK then beast. Planning to pull the JLR Evo3 out of the Jato. Is is modded by Ab mods, and I run the 2607 pipe set as well. What would you drop it in? I bash mostly, but the Jato really doesn't do the engine a pipe justice. Had my share of tranny problems as a result of the high rpm of the JLR.

alot of guys i know that bash trucks, run the OS motors, because they are ez to tune, cheap, and reliable.

maybe an .18 even. not as much rpm, but a lot of grunt and power for a truck that size.

They might not have an idea what the JLR is capable of.

go to our site, click on the points link on the side.

1st thru 3rd, 5th and 6th in the pro class, all running Red Dots, Tuned, or IDMs

plus both 1st and 2nd in sport class.

plus we just had a race today and a Tuned JL was bustn some azz against modified Novas, RBS, etc.

they make great power and run time.

why does everybody know about the JLs if they are no good???

As I mentioned before, a high rpm engine is no way for bashing, a more powerfull .18 with a faster gearing is much faster on the parking and for sure more protecting itself against the high rpm's which can be reached on large parkings.

And like I mentioned in my earlier post...I am a basher and you are posting mis-information. You are speaking in theory...I am speaking from experience. Evidently you have never run this engine.

My JLR makes more HP at higher rpm than any other smallblock. Go back and check the dyno graph I posted. Over 1.2HP and nearly 40oz. tork from a .12, 18 or .20 engine is unreal, and that's the dyno of the Evo2 not the Evo3.

With the shorter stroke of the .12, you don't even need taller gearing or a long distance it revs up fast. It's faster than my .18TM, .21TM and TRX 3.3/.20 modded or not...and very easy to tune and holds it.

The best HP says nothing, if you can not use it by getting the right gearing the engine is nothing and the old Orion CRF is a very good example. If you are using the standard gearing the CRF is crap, when going to the lightest gearing the CRF is a monster.

I know for sure when using a hirh rpm engine to drive 200 meter the street up and down on full throttle the conrod will stick out the engine very quick.....

First you argument was for taller gearing with the .18.

The best HP says nothing, if you can not use it by getting the right gearing the engine is nothing
Now you have the same gearing argument for the use of the JLR .12 also, after I clearly stated that
With the shorter stroke of the .12, you don't even need taller gearing or a long distance it revs up fast.
Maybe you just have something against this engine that you have never run, and not open minded enough to read the threads others have posted in favor of the JLR.12.

BTW nobody..nobody just runs WOT up and down the street 200 meters like you said. We bashers are lucky if we can get a couple 100ft straight...let alone 600ft.

why not install the traxxas 3.3 engine? isn't that what the jato is suppose to use? traxxas says you can get the jato to over 65 mph. plus it's the least expensive. maybe best for bashing.

Don't think he said it is going in a Jato. My JLR. 12 is coming out of my Jato, and I was asking what I should I put it in.

Hands down.. any of the choices mentioned are better made engines than the 3.3. The 3.3 is fast, especially modded, but not the same quality. I have owned 3 of them by default, came with the cars.

I think the JLR.12's got it.
