I might try the coke bottle idea too.
I love my engine run in stand but I think one day my neighbours are gonna kill me.
If the noise is getting on my nerves and I wear ear plugs , I can just imagine what the neighbours are thinking.
and as for the guy who runs in engines at midnight, I love my nitro engines but I would kill you
Keep the ideas rolling in guys

I just use fuel line(auto fuel line 3/8ths I believe). 20' should do it. Put it on the stinger and run it under the garage door and there you go. This is my method.
My neighbors don't even know when I break one in. Other wise I just stop by the off-road track(out in BFE & no ones there) and do a wide open throttle break-in.

The only true way to silence the bench is what I have done and it is not a complete problem solver but it helps.
By using a wooden prop or plastic composite you have to file the angle of the prop a bit, as well as cut the notch out for the carb. By changing the pitch of the blade you reduce the noise that it makes. The noise of the blade by far is much worse than the pipe.
When removing material from the prop dont take off to much do a little at a time..

Ive made a airfilter neck that sits on teh side of the motor with a buggy air filter and use a garden hose pipe about 4/5 meters long that goes into a 2 liter Coke bottle and placed on the side of my garage entrance on teh outside. Ive used a piece of high temp hydrolic pipe as a adaptor for hose to fit the stinger.
It makes a huge difference in noise.
I actually tried a 5 liter plastic container that made more noise than the 2 Coke bottle
Never had complaints.
Got the tip from a buddy in Cape Town who runs engines in for club members.
