Hi Nimo,

can you give me some tipps what inserts to use with rubber tyres? I am currently using Speedmind Standard-profile inserts medium but i am looking for an insert that gives more support to the sides of the tyre. Thank you!

Regards,
Robert

I've been using Echo inserts for the last few years, I'm using the soft (yellow) inserts but some use the medium (orange) inserts.

Echo J4430S (High Traction) or if this gives a little too much front then use (in the front only) J4432S (High Pressure)
(S=Soft, if you prefer medium then change last letter to M)
Do not use the J4429 or J4431 inserts, they are for Electric use and give too much air gap for IC use.

High pressure puts most of the load on the centre of the tyre
High Traction puts more pressure to the outer edges of the tyre

Hi Nimo!

Thank you for the reply. I already thought about using Echo inserts but was wondering if the 5,6mm were not to thick. Unluckily, i am not able to find your suggestions on the Powers website: http://www.powers-international.com/...cho/molded.htm

Can you give me another hint?

Regards,
Robert

Use the numbers I mentioned above, I have not used any other insert for at least 2 years.
I use ING 0.8 24mm Wheels, Echo inserts and Sorex tyres.

Well this coming weekend is the opening of the Nitro onroad season here in the north! (WI) I placed a last minute order for parts from RC-Union, to hopefully make it here if not next weekend the weekend after. Including that quick change center bulkhead from 3R, Kyosho lightened clutch, and Gray shoe, and some other spare parts.

One thing I noticed is that Tower Hobbies seems to have dropped all Kyosho cars from their shop, everything including the RRR and 05R are listed as discontinued and all of the parts for them are listed as the same. Sort of a bummer

Also sorta sucks that many people from this thread jumped ship to the RRR WC hehe. Figures that once I get a car everyone moves on to a different one hehe.

Also for those looking for good prices on foams... THS racing has 8$ per pair foams. I have 50$ in goodies coming from them this week

Make sure you get the right one!!
I had an original one, it was supposed to be race legal (5.2mm) but was actually 5.9mm, and it was totally pants in the performance departpent.
The later version has been rated here by others.
I found Kyosho's own pipe (VSW024) to be good in performance and fuel economy, and it has also been the strongest of all the pipes I've tried, but it's not cheap.

ROAR legal is 5mm or less. Don't worry about the size, just run the pipe and you will see.
